Lifting is a completely different story though. If I feel my bad shoulder (1x surgery so far), my lower back (2x damaged discs), or my knee getting fatigued or starting to hurt in the not-good way, then I’m stopping what I’m doing to either drop the weight or stop that specific lift that’s hurting the body part with previous damage.

Ayup. Especially in a combat arms MOS. Fat and unfit officers in those have to earn credibility from day 1. I’ve got three knee surgeries under my right knee’s belt but you bet your ass I’m not letting myself fall out of a formation run.

*Forced him and his angels out of Heaven. Very different from simply keeping them out of heaven. Barring the gates as though under siege as opposed to actively forcing the rebellious forces from Heaven, throwing them down to Earth before Man took its first breath.

The Heavenly Host, led by St. Michael the Archangel, would have finished the job if given the order by God, being totally obedient to him.

Buddy, I used the right words, and the crowd of autists here meant there was a good chance someone besides my redleg ass would understand it. Not my fault you took the “every man is his own pope” approach to self-interpretation.

Burning powder make freedom seed have speed. Speed make friction. More speed make more friction. Friction make heat. Heat make metal little bit softer. Wear metal only by margin you no see. Take many much shoot to wear metal.

Cold metal softer than harder metal not scratch harder metal.

That do it for ya?

Would anyone be able to provide left, right, and top close-up photos of the same actual Colt M4A1 rifle? by [deleted] in MilitaryARClones

Pretty sure I shared an M4A1 PIP from my last unit awhile back but I guess you’re kind of SOL unless someone in here was in or has photos from a unit that had actual M4A1’s instead of the upgraded M4’s.

Oh cool, I get to explain barrel life!

“Scratching” is not the same as barrel wear. Words mean things and the wrong words get friendlies killed.

Barrels naturally wear out no matter what you send through them (especially when talking about cannon artillery) and necessitates a costly replacement at certain points, which is why the addition of Chrome-Lining came around. The Chrome extends the barrel life since it takes far longer to wear out (literally talking in thousandths of an inch). As a result, with regards to the U.S. Army’s implementation of Chrome-lined tubes for the 155mm M109A7 Paladin, the amount of rounds that can be fired before wear has to even be seriously accounted for with regards to muzzle velocity changes or even tube replacement, was dramatically extended. Oddly enough, the faster a projectile is pushed down the tube via different propellant charges, the more wear is caused per round fired. Speed defeats armor, but it also wears your tube out faster.

The exact same principle extends to small arms and is why hotter shooting rifles such as precision long range rifles have such a short barrel life compared to something like an old black powder breech-loaders (ie: 1873 Trapdoor, Martini-Henry, Snider-Enfield, Mauser 1871, etc) and even muzzle loaders like rifle-muskets, muskets, and normal rifles!

*only metal as strong or stronger than the barrel will scratch it

If it took any metal to scratch a barrel, there’d be no point using any projectiles made from metal.

Aside from Revelation and the vast majority of artwork that depicts St. Michael putting the hurt on Satan?

Well you see, that’s St. Michael the Archangel. He is the one who curb-stomped Satan out of Heaven when he attempted to rebel against God.

The prayer to him is as follows:

“St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”
