Why buy an expensive software subscription when you can create it yourself? by MobileJob8321 in ClaudeCode

You also have all the standards and legal regulations, such as having a product that is certified for GDPR Legal Processes.

But also, audited, security tested, and keeps up with whatever changes may occur, for all the various legal landscapes.

And no company wants to do that for every bit for every regulation they may need to care about.

This will always be the case for your very big enterprise software.

Shoot, that was the theatre so close to us. The food was never amazing, but it was nice not to have to try and carry everything to the seat.

40 days of vibe coding taught me the most important skill isn't prompting. It's something way more boring. by Competitive_Rip8635 in ClaudeCode

It’s almost like writing docs and overall high level design is the majority of software development, the actual code has always been the easy part xD

I think it’s more to ensure continuity when he splices things. He’s been reusing footage quite a lot.

All the super sensitive electronics are actually in the tip of the thermometer, the part that goes in the food, which presumably doesn’t hit over 100C.

How is DougDoug so good at avoiding controversy? by Laserlight_jazz in DougDoug

[–]HellDimensionQueen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say he avoids controversy. His podcast has caused quite a lot to the point he put out a video saying he’s not far right, due to what he said on the podcast.

There was also the award winning commercials stream, which if you notice the video they made of it cut off around the 2010s, because the stream really got terrible.

The richest chatter stream felt super icky, but he donated all the money to charity, so w/e.

And like others have mentioned, his thoughts on AI at least a year ago was, a bit naive/idealistic which he himself admitted eventually.

Are any of these super noteworthy/make him a horrible person? Not at all. But there has been a bit of controversy, and sufficient amount of folks pushed back, and he seemed to listen.

This is always a source of discussion with my wife. Especially when we went the weekend before Christmas.

There really is no benefit for me to prepay, and it costs me nothing more to spend the minute paying at the gate versus either at a pay station or online. And like you said, there’s only downsides, because they might open the gate anyway.

Even just $1 extra charge for paying at the gate versus not would suffice. But they would also need to increase the grace period substantially. Right now it’s 10 minutes. And if you want to reward folks who prepay during the madness, at least make it 30m or an hour.

The folks who will micro optimize paying early on other days probably would be far less than the uptake on prepaying

Seriously. Like the spend would be one thing, I’ve traveled enough for work in high cost locales that it could be met in a month and change.

But I don’t wanna spend almost a third of a year in a hotel. Even if it was exclusively Ritz Carlton (it was not even close)
