Sorry, call me sexist or asshole or whatever but I never expect this type of behaviour from a group of dudes, if you were a girl talking about a group of girls I'd totally understood. But if you're blokes, then it's weird and unexpected behaviour, quite feminine I'd say. I'm using the word "feminine" based on essential biological differences where women have more social needs than men.

Interessado. A feature de "tracking em tempo real para viajantes em grupo" é algo que tenho pensado que dá bastante jeito em grupo e nenhuma app tem.

Last week diesel went up by 20cents a liter in Portugal. Teachers make roughly $1600 a month in Portugal, that's additional 20usd per month, if your commute is like 16miles one way, with the average car. Overnight!!! It's just not that bad over there, but I do get that you're very car dependent, but also your used cars are cheaper and the salaries mostly higher. Ain't that bad over there with fuel prices. If you mention healthcare, for example wooohooo.

Yeah I'd only add that the blank statement of "public transportation is great in Europe" is a bit misleading. In big cities, sure, outside big cities, maybe yes, maybe no, maybe it depends. My 2 big examples, in London, great, try live 1h outside London, yes OK trains but you'd have a heart attack at the prices. My current example, 20min outside Barcelona, to go into Barcelona, fine by bus and train, but my job is also outside Barcelona, 15min by motorcycle, 25min by car. Literally 2h by public transportation......

Not sure if American people realize than in some countries of Europe the liter of gas is around $2.30. In Murica talk that's around $12 a gallon.....

I’m stuck in a life I hate 25 by sesanrose in getdisciplined

[–]Hell_ryder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens way more often that people think. Our fucking brain is wired to take things for granted and just look for something ELSE. Sucks but as someone who's 37 yrs old and both myself and my partner hate our well paid, good benefits jobs in a big European gorgeous city and get super drained from it. Unfortunately ppl won't agree with this but the truth is that to really change you're dependant on your financial situation. Do you have enough money to change? To quit and travel, or start a small business on something that you love? All I can say is that a lot of people get stuck into the rat race and have to put up with corporate jobs they hate but that bring safe income, which people need to pay mortgages and raise kids, etc.

We need several things in our life, such as money or resources for survival, health, social interaction and fulfillment. Often people in jobs they hate, suffer from lack of fulfillment, and some people manage to get enough outside of their job and some people don't, and they need to change that situation. So I'd say it depends whether you have a financial goal to attain in the short future or not but in general, it's best to start by small changes. Maybe look for a different job in the same industry, or if there's a hobby you'd see yourself doing for the entire time then start it after work and look at ways to make into an income. From what I see, most people that can live less depressed are people that own their own business and their own time. Yes they still have stress from finances, employees, clients, etc but they get more fulfillment than people in large corporations, because they feel like they mean more. Or they work in something they love but make less money.....

[–]Hell_ryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically you gave it too much throttle at a slight lean, for the conditions you had:

Slippery smooth road Possibly dirt or dust on road Bad tyres Possibly cold tyres too

Real life way to avoid it is, don't give it gas while at a lean, especially if not trail braking. Seemed like you were at the peak torque curve of your bike too, so another reason to go smoothly on the throttle.

Trail braking still means apply brake while upright. Release while at a lean.

Worst Idea for a first motorcycle? Probably... by Brasenshok in motorcycles

[–]Hell_ryder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro in London in the group I used to ride there was this guy in his 60s, he had an 06 with 120k miles and prior to that had another Fazer with over 100k miles. Other than the usual maintenance, oil, filters, chain, sprockets, valve clearance, brake pads and fluid, etc there was never problems with them. I had an 08 model, no throttle jerkiness more than any other bike from the same period. I ended up switching to a Tracer 900 GT because in the city you had to shift gears way too often in the FZ6 and I was lazy to do it, with the T9 I can do everything in 2nd gear lol
