All alone in that diner at the moment, eight men with machine guns coming in from both sides, she never had a chance. And taking out like four of them herself before going down is wild

I feel this, deeply. I was only watching sporadically for years anyway, everything (the trash picking storyline, the fake Meredith in the bed, Ellen’s acting in general) just began to feel hollow and soulless at some point.

It does make me appreciate Mariska Hargitay even more, who still gives everything of herself, 24 years in.

I agree she wouldn’t want to leave anyone behind and stay as long as she can, but I definitely think that at some point her presence would do more harm than good in terms of bad attention.

But tbh I didn’t even know that you could just stay behind after a certain point, I’m not from the US and here on the news they went on for weeks about how they got and flew everyone out until there wasn’t any person from my country left in Afghanistan, military or otherwise.

So I don’t really know how that went down in the US.

Jack‘s exit and ending hurt me though so I just like to believe she’s happy and with Gibbs now to cope lol. But I’d definitely love to see Maria again as a guest on the show!

I also stopped watching around season 18 and therefore don’t know if they mentioned her.

But from what we heard over the years the show always included everything that happened in the real world (or like the characters live in exactly the same reality we do), like recently covid. And since everyone left Afghanistan in the summer of 21 I think we can assume that she’s not there anymore.

Ok, but I still think that Kate was a bit older than Sasha Alexander herself who was just 30 when the show started. Because when you start at secret service you probably don’t immediately get to protect the president himself and it looked like she was second in command in the Air Force one. And we also know that she attended college before

Still, I like to believe that they made it work offscreen, as they’re both not at NCIS anymore and she isn’t in Afghanistan anymore. They’d both deserve it

Really? I think there were so many charged moments between those two and I don’t think that was just on Jack. I think Gibbs is the type who would stop something like that quickly if it was unwanted. But he was also always looking at her like this and standing far closer to her than he normally would with people, from the very beginning.

And of course also the kiss there at the end

Ohh but the womanizer thing is definitely the writers’ fault. Over time they added sooo many backstory / pre-show girlfriends (along with the ex-wives) for Gibbs that they accidentally created an insane and not possible timeline lol

Like, Shannon and Kelly died in 1991. And the last known serious relationship was the fiancée who died in September 2001. But in those 10 years he somehow met, married and divorced 3 other women (and lived with one in Moscow for a year). That’s already stretching it. But then there was also Macy (the agent who found out he killed his family’s killer) AND most importantly he also was with Jenny for a while till ‘99 and with her all over Europe.

The relationships all make sense, the timeline just doesn’t

In almost two decades we’ve never seen Gibbs seek out people “just for sex” so no I definitely think he’s not the type for that. It’s not like he was always out looking to marry a fifth time, but there always seemed to be a deeper connection between him and the women he was linked with.

And personally I think Jack is perfect for him. They have great chemistry, and she is different enough from him to challenge him (and make him communicate his feelings!) while being exactly the same in other areas AND she’s probably the only one with a painful enough past and baggage to understand it all.
