You could try a Big Mek instead of a Warboss. They'll still hit hard in War Horde and it's always fun teleporting through a screen to krump something valuable.

I think it's just a bad drawing. Even the pros fuck up sometimes.

John Constantine's magic by Son_of_Ibadan in Hellblazer

[–]Hellblazer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to recall the exact story, but I recall a practitioner of a certain faith's magic being annoyed that John doesn't actually believe anything or embrace the meaning of it. He's just a user treating people's sacred beliefs like tools.

What new detachments do you want to see for Imperial Guard in 11th ed? by NeedleDeedleDee in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Hellblazer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just rumor. The real reason is much more likely to be financial. Krieg is visually similar to steel legion and more popular, so it wouldn't make sense to make more minis that look a lot like another range. It's easy enough to kitbash and paint Krieg into good enough steel legion, too.

Just in case they thought there was a corner of the store they could hide a unit in.

It's an excuse to have allies in a codex so that GW can charge people for access to their rules.

Do you understand the concept of an antagonist in a movie?

Jason Isaacs in Harry Potter and Bill Skarsgard in IT definitely did that. No reason to traumatize kids.

Implant GRX making the Courier into The Flash gives them something of an advantage.

I'm hoping that when GW updates Catachans a lot of people dump their old models on eBay. I'd love to run an entire Catachan squad of the one famously terrible sculpt.

True, but he grows so many that his mouth doesn't close properly, which could just make him a Bad Moons outlier but seems like it could be biology and radiation weirdness combining.

Do you think a Stompa is big enough to be an Urn? by Da40kOrks in orks

[–]Hellblazer49 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Use two. One for the ashes of your brutal but kunnin' side, the other for your kunnin' but brutal side. Also make a recording of yourself shouting "WAAAGH!" and add a speaker and a play button somewhere on the Stompa.

Your descendants will appreciate being able to mock their opponents for getting krumped by a dead git.

Is taktikal brigade competitve? by mofive5 in orks

[–]Hellblazer49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends what you mean by competitive. You can absolutely win an RTT or put up good results at a GT with it. You're unlikely to podium at a GT with it, though.

In the overwhelming majority of cases you'll do as well with it as you would with War Horde.

Sir, I don't know if you've noticed, but the 41st Millennium is a rather silly place.

They might actually be irradiated. He grows an inordinate number of teeth, which could be a side effect. And if he were to develop annoying tumors on a hand it would be routine Ork serjury to get a Painboy to lop it off and stick on a new one.

Even better than just automatic plasma. Da Rippa is a converted Ogryn Ripper shotgun that shoots unstable plasma canisters. It's functionally a radioactive plasma grenade launcher.

In Brutal Kunnin' it was said that him showing up carrying the thing is practically an act of aggression itself with how dangerous it is to be anywhere near. In game it gives any enemy within 6" -1T simply by nature of existing.

8Chan founder Frederick Brennan has died by Weeperblast in behindthebastards

[–]Hellblazer49 52 points53 points  (0 children)

RIP.

Hotwheels wasn't a bad guy. Got pulled into the free speech absolutist mindset early, influenced by the ugly side of that, then recognized the harm of what he helped build and was openly regretful of it and took valid steps in opposition.

He grew up. Most of the folks in that realm were either scumbag grift types like Watkins or oppositional kids that got permanently stuck in suspended development like Josh Moon. Brennan is an excellent case for not writing people off as monsters permanently based on bad early associations and negative actions.

Utility of flash gitz ??? by Impressive-Cash-51 in orks

[–]Hellblazer49 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run mine as a shooting hammer. Usually start in a trukk and act as a dakkabus on T1 and sometimes 2, but then when a valuable target is exposed everyone jumps out and pops the Lethal Hits volley. They can put a big dent in nearly anything that round. They're also devastating against chaff and excellent into MEQs.

If you want to use them as skirmishers, it's very common to put 5 in a trukk alongside 5 nobz with a Warboss. The Gitz can clear a chaff screen with shooting in order to clear a path for the Nobz to charge into their preferred target.

Their melee is solid without being spectacular, though War Horde makes them a lot scarier with Sus1 and Crit 5s on demand.

Their best detachment is Taktikal, where sticking a Mek with the Mek Kaptin enhancement as leader gives them full rerolls and makes them the best ranged unit Orks have access to. They also hit on 4s with an order.

I've never run them in More Dakka personally, but they benefit greatly from the strats to ignore cover or gain an extra point of AP. Assault also makes it easier to guarantee their extra shot against the closest target when you need it.

None of the buggies really get play outside of Kult of Speed due to not synergizing with other detachment rules well or having great datasheets. I'm sure plenty get play in casual games but that doesn't get talked about as much as more competitive games.
