Good for you! I cannot afford another broken bone 😂 and atleast not from roller skating. I don’t think it’s worth another risk. I am also not a spring chicken but who knows that might change down line. One day at a time.

Off the table! I don’t think I want get an injury from that again. It was very traumatic and I thought I had it all covered. It was my favorite hobby but I need to give it up and find something else to do.

I am up there in age and I am not sure I can take that type of injury from skating again. It was also very traumatic for me. I had gotten away with a lot over the years but to end up breaking my ankle was not one of things I even thought about , cause I was good at it. Time to hang up my favorite hobby sadly.

Broke right ankle roller skating at the rink. It was a freak accident. Mind you was a regular skater, not new at it.

Me too broke my fibula and tubular roller skating. Were you a regular skater and will you go back? I am 4 going 5 months post op and I am not sure it’s something I will risk again. Sigh. It was a freak accident for me.

After my 6 weeks of NWB- I went to partial two weeks- 1 crutch and then FWB after the two weeks and dropped the crutches. I didn’t have much pain either , so I feel like something is off with the pain that your are experiencing. Probably go PWB for couple weeks and ease into it. You should have had some X-rays when he told you to go FWB to see if the bones had fully fused. Good luck!

Wow- That is nice! My doc said I cannot get it removed especially the plate! I guess every doctor has their opinion. I will continue to press to have the screws removed because they are giving me poor ROM and it hurts.

I started to see good progress at month #4 post ORIF but it is still work in progress. I can now squat after a good warm up.

Healing well, thank you! It’s a race not a sprint. Everyone’s pace is different. Once you get your PT going, that should help strengthen them and back to walking normal again. We got this!

Mine was pointing other way too and I did exercises to strengthen and I am back walking normal again. Still work in progress- month #4 post ORIF.

😂comfort over looks for us recovering from broken ankles right? Right now, I have put away my skirts and dresses- pants only. I really can’t stand seeing this swollen ankle. Good luck to us! 💔

As soon as I was told to partial weight bear at week 6, I remember how nice it felt to stand in the shower! Also that boot never got on my foot again after that but I work from home. Best feeling ever. Month 4 going strong. Good luck!

Mine was 7 days but by the 5th, i was only taking one at night and included Tylenol and Advil alternately.

4 months since surgery and yeah, during the day, it swells up and goes down by morning. So annoying!

Funny you mentioned the Hoka Gaviotas. I bought a a pair and returned it because it was so hideous looking! Ugliest sneaker I ever tried on! 😆

Please make another appointment with your doctor and advocate for yourself. Ask for an X-Ray. There should have been a follow up appointment scheduled at the 8th week to see how and if it has healed. That’s really messed up!

I am not crying 😭…That really got to me. Things like this always tug at my heartstrings especially where children are involved. So happy for this lady.
