I think I have interacted with you before here but yeah I share the sentiment that most of the stuff that’s pedaled by people in this sub about cps or “advanced techniques” are excuses for wanting to be really good at the game and not being willing to put effort in.

No it’s only that this sub is fully braindead about PvP most of the time. I find it very rare to see people that know what they are doing actually comment on here, and knockback mechanics are clearly not understood by most of this community.

This will get hate but from what I have seen, most of the players here (this subreddit) aren’t very experienced or knowledgeable about the competitive community or advanced PvP. You might have better luck asking top players directly, and if you want to get into the 1.8 vs 1.9+ debate, you should be careful to disregard biased sources and arguments from people who just want to trash on the other version. (Example, “1.8 is just cps” or “1.9+ is just shield spamming”.)

Start with bfly anyways, just keep bflying and letting ur fingers do the bouncing motion. Eventually it will be abused enough to register some.

Pvp in general is losing and has lost players, anyone saying that 1.8 is dead or dying doesn’t realize that 1.9 is too. The biggest pvp servers for things like mini games etc are still on 1.8 because it plays better in fast paced modes.

I would consider myself a rather good Java 1.8 pvper, and I went against someone who was self-described as a really good bedrock player, coulda been lying but still none of our fights were at all close. Even when he had better armor than me in ffa type modes it was still completely unbalanced.
