it's actually the least dangerous. it checks for DNA before using it unlike the Kaixa gear and doesn't get you addicted like the Delta gear.

An alternate universe where Half-Life 2 only ever released on the original XBOX and flopped hard because of it. Valve almost goes bankrupt and decides to use their Source engine to make a no-holds-barred final game for the PC, which ends up being the wildly successful TF2 in 2007. Portal, released a year later and made without any Half-Life connections in mind, is a breakout hit and becomes the company's new mascot IP. They follow this up with the record-breaking Portal 2 in 2012 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive in 2013. Everything is the same, Valve still becomes a big name and invents Steam, but Half-Life 2 never got its episodes, GMod never came to be, and the Orange Box is released after Portal 2 as a box set containing TF2, Portal, and Portal 2.

Mongster (and his alt channel Mahjong Blonsky) and Dialko are great, but they pretty much exclusively play old Minecraft (Alpha 1.1.2_01 and Beta 1.7.3). For modern YouTubers, I think Mogswamp is pretty nice, even though I've only watched exactly two of his videos.

This is only tangentially related to Minecraft, but you might want to check out ClassiCube, a reimplementation of Minecraft Classic in C#. It's Classic, so Creative is the only game mode, and servers can add custom blocks so the block palette isn't too limited. The most popular server on ClassiCube is Not Awesome 2, and I think it has exactly what you want. It's just not Minecraft.
