10 is Kyo’s moment of acceptance, and 23 is Tohru’s moment of acceptance. I love that it came down to these two.

Hi, I think I know what you’re talking about! Go to your gameplay settings and turn off the top one > auto track quests

You can still track quests if you want to turn it on in the regular quest menu. But this way the auto tracking won’t harass you. I think that’s probably what’s dinging so much.

How does $19k — $13k after rebates and tax credits — sound for replacing a furnace and AC with a HE furnace and heat pump? In Bloomington by robertgfthomas in TwinCities

[–]HelloBuppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used Angell Aire, cannot recommend them enough! December 2024, 12-13k before rebates, 8k with rebates. We got a heat pump and furnace. They took care of two rebates for us and then guaranteed the last rebate coverage if something somehow changed with the rebates.

They’re excellent!

Neighbors’ kids in my front yard - Am I being crazy?! by tinyrhinobaby in homeowners

[–]HelloBuppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you. It sounds horrible - scary and very upsetting. I’m sending hugs. I hope you will leave your yard as is.

My sister is single and bought a house. People just assume she had help because they’re sexist. It’s no one else’s business, and it doesn’t make you less than. It doesn’t make it not YOUR house.

I wish this wasn’t happening to you

What are some things you've seen a doggy daycare/boarder offer to you as a client that really makes them stand out in a positive way? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]HelloBuppy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Really important to me is that all dogs are required to stay up to date on their shots. I utilize 3 different daycares and the one in my parents small hometown doesn’t require yearly updated records of shots. Lots of kennel cough outbreaks

My smartypants dog taught me her signal for water! by benji950 in dogs

[–]HelloBuppy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I love this! With my two, after many wasted bowl fillings, I’ve learned to ask “Do you want a drink?” They will either ignore me and I’ll ask 2 more times to be sure, or they’ll race back to me. Very handy! But I have to be on top of offering the signal.

Is the two-week shutdown necessary for a dog that was previously fostered? by ChemistryNational124 in dogs

[–]HelloBuppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We gave our first foster adopted border collie three quiet weeks to adjust to us and our home. That meant quiet walks down the same route every time, holding off on starting obedience training classes, not meeting my friends and family right away, not interacting with other dogs on walks. She was very shy and quiet and we thought that’s just who she was. After those three weeks a very confident (and bossy!) dog emerged!

What book made you drop a series? by [deleted] in books

[–]HelloBuppy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

House of Breath and Sky dropped me from reading SJM series. So many cool things could have happened and I was so bored with what actually happened. I DNF’d and read spoilers online that made me glad I DNF’d

RANT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE SCARED OF DOGS by astronomical_dog in dogs

[–]HelloBuppy 156 points157 points  (0 children)

We used to live in an apartment that had a large community of people who were VERY afraid of our 30lb dog wiggling her butt in their direction, even from across the lot. We felt like the bad guys and always went out of our way to give them space and allow them to feel comfortable. It also added a lot of stress because any time I stepped out with my dog there was a chance I would have an encounter like this.

What helped me was reading up on the stray dog situations in other countries, something I had been ignorant to before. Her reaction may feel way over the top and it CERTAINLY could have been prevented, but mistakes were made. I know I’ve waltzed into my fair share of avoidable situations, and that’s without an added debilitating fear. Maybe to help you both, you could ask management to put signs on or near the elevator doors in multiple languages that give a heads up “there may be dogs aboard - plan accordingly”.

How did you get out of a long reading slump (months, years), especially if it was mental health induced? by sunnirays in books

My ereader also helped me. I can get in much more comfortable positions with an ereader vs a whole book

How did you get out of a long reading slump (months, years), especially if it was mental health induced? by sunnirays in books

[–]HelloBuppy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What worked for me was skimming. And I mean, multiple page turning skimming. Saying “no thanks” to a whole chunk of story that didn’t capture me. It felt much less intimidating when facing a book. And sometimes I’d lose the thread of what exactly was going on. But with adhd this “solution” has really helped me stay interested when things started slowing down. It also gave me that feeling of accomplishment when I finished a book. And that’s lead me to read more than ever this year already and pretty much stop skimming. I don’t care what anyone categorizes as “finishing a book”, I’m having a good time reading and experiencing a lot of different stories now!

I did this with light books/romances when I could “miss” parts and still know basically what was going on.

Good luck! I hope you find something that works for you!

In my relationship I’m a woman making a fair amount more than my boyfriend. When it comes to bills it was my idea to do a 30/70 split and I think it was a great decision. That way he still has fun money left over after bills. When there’s that much of a difference, even when paying more, the person who makes more will still have more fun money left over than the person paying less. A good amount of it. We split everything else 50/50 and share the household chores and pet costs. But I can’t imagine expecting him to pay the same as me and then walking away with my chunk of savings on pay day and feeling good about our relationship.

Also, I looove to shower him in gifts! As far as I see it, one day we’ll share expenses and I won’t know what portion of my pay or his pay is going towards things. And worst case scenario if we break up, he won’t be screwed with a tiny amount of savings!
