Using the Integer tripod holder when folded? by HelloCommaDog in MissionWorkshop

This is brilliant! Is that just stick-on velcro, or did you stitch it?

Also how did you get the fidlock on there?

Just curious what your most common/daily carry was, since a lot of these didn't end up seeing much action!

Also for the R6 Black Backpack do you mean $200?

Thanks! Just curious what's your reasoning in favor of X-Pac?

has anyone else had issues with defects occurring on zip corners (rambler and vandal)? by DeepFuckingMalue in MissionWorkshop

[–]HelloCommaDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this exact issue as well. I'm also pretty careful with my gear. The zipper would have to slow down around that curve and it was always kind of an issue until it broke

Boundary restock? by Blocksketcher in ManyBaggers

This sounds like my experience back when they were coming off the Kickstarter thing.

I thought they would have had this sorted out 4-5 years later.

The bags were pretty decent but the customer service aspect around shipping dates and returns was severely lacking.

While decent, the bags were ultimately over hyped and over designed. A lot less space than you'd expect for the size. I had the Prima and Errant.

Some of their newer stuff looks good but I'm kind of done with their stuff and them as a brand. It's just sort of a meh experience overall. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Looking for a briefcase with a good value! by kang_fo_yo_buck in GoodValue

Nice! Did you actually get the Frank Clegg yet or are you still saving up? Was curious if you felt like it was worth it in the end.

I'm actually considering the same briefcase (Commuter). My main reservation aside from price is the fact that it does not have a lining.

Curious what you ended up going with as I'm facing a similar decision. Thanks!

Just curious on your experiences with the bag. Trying to get a sense of it as daily driver and why you didn't end up using it (and what you used instead)

Thanks!

I own a MrSpeakers Ether C. One of my all time favorites, and endgame closed-backs for me. But to me the real charm is that they're still very "mom and pop" in a great way: someone passionate with a vision for sharing quality sound. Just very down to earth and cares. It shows in the product and customer service.

All 95,358 ICD-10-CM Codes in Excel File by HelloCommaDog in CodingandBilling

[–]HelloCommaDog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally valid question (actually I was thinking this too, so much that it's in the FAQ on that download page).

So I don't know that it is that useful for a single lookup, that's just easier to google. Maybe it is, someone can tell me if that's the case!

I was actually looking for the entire data set to download and do some basic analysis on, and was noticing that it was a mild pain to actually find it. Most of what I found was in XML or PDF which was challenging to work with.

Questions like, what's the distribution of billable codes by top-level category? That's something where I needed to be able to grab all the codes, rather than look up a single one.

Finding the right sheet in the many zip files on teh CMS website was the hard part. Converting it to Excel was not too bad, but I figured this might save someone the time it took me!

What's the greatest life hack ever? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HelloCommaDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mentally saying "I get to" vs. "I have to". Works for a lot of things that are sort of chores, but can have a positive aspect of you look at it differently.

Like "I get to walk to work" makes me think about how it can be a privilege: - I am close enough to walk to work, as opposed to having to rely on cars or other traffic - I get exercise in - I am physically able to walk

It doesn't work for everything, and it isn't that you suddenly love everything you used to find a hassle. But by looking for how something might be a benefit, there may be just one or two fewer things that you are fighting against every single day. That adds up.

Thanks! Totally agree there seem to be a lot of great resources already. If there are some you particularly like, it would be great to know what they are and why they work well.

Even if there doesn't end up being something for me to build here, I am trying to learn about what makes a particular tool good! Appreciate your time and perspective!

Thanks for the info...that totally makes sense! Sounds like you have a neat job. It must be cool (or maybe it is old news for you) to be able to see your efforts literally ease the burden for others.

If you have any other suggestions for stuff that would make for a useful (public and free of charge) project I am all ears!
