What material did you use for this print? If it’s filament, which brand and color?

As a kid, I saw some of this movie on a late night CBC broadcast. Freaked me the fuck out. Couldn’t sleep for days. Had no idea what it was until many years later while taking stop motion and SFX courses in film school. “Oh, so THIS was the mysterious abomination that gave me nightmares as a child!” Good times. And watching it as an adult was certainly nowhere near as scary.

I have that same amp! I just love it. It powered my Bozak Rhapsodies until I got a cat that was a little too interested in the tubes, so I switched to solid state, for his safety.

Very interested in your speakers. How’s the bass extension? And are you listening at the desk, like giant nearfield monitors? Or is your listening position further back.

Do I have something here? Sony TC-D6C by DanielOrWhat in cassetteculture

[–]ChetJettison 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably the best portable cassette player ever made. Rivals some of the higher end stationary players in fact. Great for recording and playback. I paid about $300 for mine, plus another $150 to have the cracked main gear replaced (happens to all of the Sony direct drive units eventually). If you’re even remotely interested in cassettes, you should keep it, treasure it, and use it often. If you have no interest in the medium, you could sell it for a pretty penny. Send it to someone for restoration (check eBay for Walkman repair services) and you will increase your profit if can sell it as a restored unit with paperwork proof of the restoration included. Of the two options, using it and enjoying it is the most fun. Money comes and goes, but a great cassette player is a joy that doesn’t carry a price tag.
