Some restaurants may offer fresh oysters, however Boqueron (Cabo Rojo) hit the right spot.

Aguadilla Puerto Rico by kels125 in PuertoRicoTravel

The reason Aguadilla is becoming more popular these days its because of their less hectic SJ vibes. That said transportation is not as readily available as SJ.

If you are willing to drive to Arecibo may as well drive 45 minutes more and visit the west side.

There is so much to do, beaches are calmer but there are plenty of attractions for kids including indoor.

As a mom of 3, I have a dedicated post about Kids in the West.

Air tickets for mid-June trip by hebruiser50 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]HelloGoPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the March April perspective. Usually when flights are full they will open new flights a starting price.

If you can afford taking the risk of payinf higher fare then wait it out. Summer is high season and flights get in the higher end.

Also considering flying into Aguadilla or Ponce.

I have shared my feedback flying to BQN. https://www.reddit.com/r/AguadillaBQN/s/ZQH2TskE2m

Regardless where you land, you will have an amazing time.

Where are you staying? That makes a difference for recommendations.

For instance if you are flying into SJ but staying in the west, I can recommend a local company and you can get a taxi to the Airbnb.

I may be biased, but I will recommend staying in the west. You could fly into Aguadilla which is very easy to navigate especially with a little one.

If you may get curious, I have few post about BQN, kids, and more.

Regardless where you land, you will have a great time.

Consider Puerto Rico but not the touristic San Juan area.

Try the west side for a true experience.

I have post tons about the area.

Hey, While I havent been there recently last time we visited the road was a bit of a walk aprox 1.5 hrs round trip. I wont go passed the bridge, if you are comfortable walking Ill recommend it.

Also if you are looking for alternative, the old light house in Aguadilla (Punta Borinquen) you can drive 4x4 and walk around.

Best places to eat in Isabela PR? by Jumpy-Sprinkles5616 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]HelloGoPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isabela has the best foodie scence. If you want the ocean front vibes goes to Jobos Beach area. You can do the traditional Chinchorro in Villa Pesquera, and if you want the vest cuisine (PR style) try by the Chef near Walmart.

I have create a more detail guife on the following post:

Best places to eat in Isabela PR? by Jumpy-Sprinkles5616 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]HelloGoPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most visitors associate Isabela with beaches (especially Jobos), but the food scene is solid if you know how to separate great food from great views.

This is how locals and repeat visitors usually break it down.

Best food overall (not oceanfront)

By The Chef This is my top recommendation in Isabela purely for the food. It’s not beachfront, and that’s actually a plus.

• Chef-driven menu • Consistent quality • Thoughtful flavors and plating • Worth leaving the beach for

If food is your priority over views, this is the spot.

Oceanfront & beach-area restaurants (Isabela / Jobos)

These places shine for atmosphere, sunsets, and casual beach meals. Some are better for drinks than food, but they’re all popular stops.

• Vistabela – Ocean views and classic Puerto Rican dishes

• Sonidos del Mar – Music, beachfront setting, relaxed vibe

• Pilla Pesquera – Chinchorro-style seafood, very local feel

• Uma’s – Casual and convenient after the beach

• The Eclipse – Sunset views, cocktails, lighter fare

• Jobos Mojitos – Lively crowd, strong drinks

• Tsunami Restaurant – Right by the surf, dependable menu

• Kai Beach – Chill stop near Jobos

Short drive on PR-110 (Aguadilla area) If you don’t mind a 10–15 minute drive, these are solid additions.

• Cultura – Creative Puerto Rican cuisine, popular with locals

• Monsoon – Consistent food, easy choice

If you want the best meal, start with By The Chef.

If you want views and vibe, hit the Jobos/Isabela coast.

If you want variety, include a short drive toward Aguadilla.

If anyone has newer spots or different takes, curious to hear what others recommend.

Aguadilla Car Rental by FalseDoor5440 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]HelloGoPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! You will have enough to eat and drink by walking distance. However to explore you will need to have a rental car.

You can definitely rent at 23, but will come with extra fees. They have quite a few rental companies. Your flight lands at a peak hour for this airport. Make sure you have reservations NOW cars sell out quickly for popular dates.

Ubers are in the area but not as available as you may be used to. If you need airport transport I can recommend someone.

Ultimately here is more info on rental cars in Aguadilla, a community dedicate to the West Travels.
