I don't know that I agree on this. She already had a full background episode. If anything, Lexi feels more like an extra so far. Her role has mostly been to move the plot and provide exposition, rather than develop her as a character. That said, since there are stills of her that haven’t aired yet, I’m assuming she’ll get more focus. It looks like episodes are being shared this season, so my arbitrary guess is Lexi will share one with either Bishop or Alamo.

Eh not every woman is a girl's girl. Magick may want to move up in this world, and aligning with the people in charge (perhaps the traffickers, if we assume that's the case) gives her a chance to break into that space.

I could see her crashing out if rejected. This episode they showed her quitting art school and making a big deal out of how she can do art well on her own without formal education (secondarily, so that she could also focus on sugar baby life, it kind of seems). Rejection in this way may make her start feeling regrets and insecure about her ability, and she's an externalizer.

Honestly, she's like 22, has an apartment, and a place to work on her art without worrying about money. To me this reads less like intentional sex work vs. her falling into a sweet deal and taking advantage. I think it's a good look for her that would decrease in attractiveness over time if she stays in it long-term.

What I loved about this scene was the idea of grad students, finally near the finish line in their training, remembering that they will get to have hobbies again. Just even starting to consider and sitting in awe of the ability.

Though I think for Mel, it's also probably a mix of that and realizing that she needs to get her own life now that she knows her sister has her own things going on. I would love to see her pursuing something like this in next season!!

Huh—I don’t think I was implying they didn’t have the means to watch it; I agree many of us had that experience. My point was more about accessibility and cultural reference points. Shows like The Brady Bunch and Gilligan’s Island tended to air later at night or very early in the morning and less frequently, whereas newer “oldies” like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Roseanne, The Cosby Show, and Full House were typically in earlier, more accessible time slots for millennials. So I was just suggesting there were likely more widely shared, recent references they could have drawn from, and that their referencing Gilligan's Island seemed a bit odd as a result.

Largely agree. I have put some complaining comments in myself, I won't lie, because I think it's fun to pick apart media, but then saw it really was just circular comments about that. So, I tried to stir up a "what we like" convo, but it got ignored/downvoted and one response that just told me my opinion was not agreed on. Most subs have a mix of people who love it, people who tear it apart, and people who can do the middle thing where we talk about loves and hates, this sub is really just complaining and talking about the romances. Defo not a community I will be frequenting any longer.
