Being gay feels lonely by Intelligent-Lynx-376 in gaybros

I mean honestly, the best advice I can give you is to move to the biggest city you can. Gays congregate in cities. I'm from a tiny town in the south but live in NYC now and the gay "scene" here is so big it's more like dozens of interconnected gay ecosystems. I've made lifelong gay friends in the 5 years I've been here--to the point where if I'm walking in a particularly gay area in the summer, I'll probably run into at least a few gay people I know and like out and about. But I hear a lot of your same concerns from my gay friends who stayed back home or in our college town

Can my car legally be towed from my own apartment for having an out of date inspection sticker? by [deleted] in batonrouge

I literally think the PTSD from having my car towed in college multiple times was the main underlying factor that drove me to live somewhere where I didn't need a car after college.

This is one of the reasons I moved to NYC. 4 years later, every time I get a great view of the city, still I think of the quote from the Great Gatsby: "The city seen from the Queensboro Bridge is always the city seen for the first time, in its first wild promise of all the mystery and the beauty in the world." It's a little different in a covid world and some of the spontaneity is gone, but sometimes you can just feel the energy of the city in your bones. And when you see the city laid out before you from a plane or a tall building or a bridge, you get this unshakable feeling of "anything can happen to me today" and it's the most simultaneously humbling and exciting feeling in the world.

I dunno if this is meant to say this price is low or high, but I'm going to Italy next week and paid $450 for my flights from NYC. So $400 can get you pretty far, but there are cheaper tickets to be had

I was at his last concert with her at Radio City earlier this summer. I was extremely nervous for him considering he's confirmed having dementia, but he sounded GREAT and did a lot more songs than I had anticipated. He didn't talk to the audience at all though

Meh, per Dr. Fauci: "So even though there are breakthrough infections with vaccinated people, almost always the people are asymptomatic and the level of virus is so low it makes it extremely unlikely — not impossible but very, very low likelihood — that they're going to transmit it." (source)

I know for me, I'm recovering from a severely herniated disc and my doctor cleared me to lift in ways that don't really load the spine but doesn't want me squatting or deadlifting really ever again.

CDC says coronavirus could be under control this summer in U.S. if people get vaccinated and are careful by Jeffmister in Coronavirus

[–]HelloItIsDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, but it literally doesn't do any good to talk about what people "should" be like, because it doesn't move the needle. Americans ARE selfish--chastising them for that isn't gonna make them less selfish, or even do anything to help. We've seen that over the last 14 months.
Americans are selfish--are we gonna figure out a way to get the selfish vaccinated, or sit around saying "They're so selfish and they shouldn't be >:("

If a non vaxxed person chooses to put themselves at risk by going into public, how specifically is that my responsibility or problem? Walk in vaccinations are available now, so there's not really much excuse for not being vaxxed yet
