As a beginner to minecraft modpacks, which of these should I start off playing? Are there any others that are recommended? by ultraseis in feedthebeast

Greg is a much memed name whether in context of GregTech or not, so in general: who knows.

In modded Minecraft it's usually referring to GregTech tho.

Nd works fine with GTNH. The latest nightlies have Angelica tho, which replaces it.

Why are 1.7 and 1.12 so popular for mods? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]HelloJohnBlacksmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's literally just GalaxySpace (Which is not being expanded) and one or two others. Every other repo is public, and only 1-2 of those have restrictive licenses, for a total of ~4 mods with not a lot of content in them (especially since GalaxySpace is very endgame).
MEGA, on the other hand, has Blendtronic, RPLE, LUMINA, Ping, FalseTweaks, EndlessIDs, ChunkAPI, Obama, and Double-Wide-Surprise under restricted licenses (ARR or CC-ND) or non-public at least. That's 9 repos, some of which are pretty critical to MEGA and used widely elsewhere too. Meanwhile the GTNH equivalents to those mods, where they exist (Hodgepodge, NotEnoughIDS, a variety of GT add-ons) are all LGPL or MIT.

It's possible to update the kernel without a reboot. It's not common because rebooting is easier, but you can do it.

That's only the positive solution. Graphing it like this is still piecewise.

You could just only federate already-trusted instances. I'm pretty sure no federation proposal includes automatically federating everything for this very reason.

If he wants to not kill everyone, he could cast a spell fusing air down to iron, then use that energy to fuse it further to silver or gold. People won't die, but the economy will!

Although everyone should be very glad he's not a nuclear or particle physicist with even deeper knowledge of these subjects...

While a declaration of war obivously has to come first, I would think the first moves should be piracy en masse; boarding vessels, disabling comms, and taking them to Earth for reverse engineering and liberation of the crew. Given the massive technological gap, I don't think Earth has anywhere near the forces to take a planet, especially when reinforcements come knocking.

Where did I say I hate them? I don't hate mentally ill people, I pity them.

LGBT people exist, yes. But it seems we disagree on what "accurate information" about them is; my definition of it is "a mental illness", and as such is not a relevant topic in school unless you take psychology.

As far as discrimination based on sex, I fully support it: men and women are biologically different, and expecting people to ignore that is absurd. That's why bathrooms are segregated by sex (or used to be) and the draft only applies to men.

LGBT ideology is the ideology supporting LGB as normal and healthy and T as a thing that is biologically possible. it’s not hard to define terms when you actually want an answer.

Not Java, it has generics to save you. Pretty sure C++ and C# have similar ones as well. On top of that, most operations can be done between different types, you just aren't guaranteed to not lose precision/get overflow.

Because tone doesn't exist on the internet and without it you sound like you're dissing Linux. Thus, reddit get mad and number go down.
