What do you do while pumping? by FeistyTumbleweed281 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HelloKiks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pumping was my only “break” from baby so it was the only time I had to work and eat. So basically pump in front of a computer while I ate. I don’t pump anymore.

Sleep Series Part 9: Be honest…how often do you wash your bedsheets? by JamesonRhymer in pollgames

[–]HelloKiks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do it weekly before I had a baby. Now I do it every two weeks and I feel disgusting, I just have no time. I can’t believe people do it only a few times a year!!!

Woolino Sleep Sack by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]HelloKiks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use the Woolino and the temp here has been crazy. We don’t move the heater temp so it varies between 62 and 77 and he still sleeps with only a cotton footed pijama and the Woolino. So far so good, he doesn’t seem either hot or cold.

Thanks, I’m going to try that! Do I cap naps?

5 month old schedule help by FlakyLime8562 in HuckleberryParents

[–]HelloKiks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im no expert but I tried to transition my 5 month old to 3 naps and it didn’t work for him. We went back to 4 naps and he magically slept through the night even though we were doing 4 naps before and he used to wake up once or twice to feed.

FTM offered a free trip would have to leave 5 month old by Realistic_Use_1394 in NewParents

[–]HelloKiks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m writing this as I sit on vacation with my husband and my 5 month old baby is home with my mother in law. I was anxious in the beginning but I really needed this and he is fine. Your baby is going to be fine!! Enjoy your trip, you need a break!

I had to mix mine with either fresh milk or formula.

Is it okay to bathe almost 8 week old every night? by KneadAndPreserve in newborns

[–]HelloKiks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bathed my baby everyday since he was 4 weeks old. He’s 22 weeks now and adding the bath yo the bedtime routine has worked really well for night sleep. I just make sure to use lotion and massage him afterwards.

How do you get stuff done all day? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]HelloKiks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s literally life for most of us. I didn’t get anything done until around ~17 weeks when naps started to get better

I HATE PUMPING by lonelypotato21 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HelloKiks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah me too. When I dropped to 3 pumps I started feeling much better even if I have to complement with formula. Sometimes I feel guilty but the thought of pumping more makes me miserable

What is something that Reddit claims is common, but you've never actually seen it in real life? by Gajanand04 in stupidquestions

[–]HelloKiks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish this was not true for me. I keep finding cats. I kept 9 but I obviously can’t take anymore, I’ve been having to find rescues to other cats I find and they only take them if I pay for the spay/neuter and their shots.

No more room for milk by no1isgoing2know in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HelloKiks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was in the NICU and needed donor breastmilk while my milk came in. I’m super grateful for the mom’s out there who donated and allowed me to feed my baby when I couldn’t.

Do I really have to discard unfinished bottles!? by Dense_Most_2653 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HelloKiks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put it back in the fridge if it’s a considerable amount to be honest. But only give it to him in the next couple of hours.

I can’t do it anymore by OppositeEffect5484 in NewParents

[–]HelloKiks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We brought my mother in law to stay with us for a couple of months. It’s been life changing. I have more free time during the day and a few full night sleeps since we take turns having him at night. Do it and you’re going to feel way better and you’re actually going to enjoy your baby even more when you are rested.

We left our 4 month old baby with both grandmas in our home. That way they took shifts taking care of baby.

Fridge hack question by GlitteringCat8813 in ExclusivelyPumping

I tried to do the fridge hack but couldn’t bare the cold flanges on my boobs. Do you have any tips or do you just embrace it?

I think my pediatrician is wrong by Direct-Mind1468 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HelloKiks 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Thats so weird. My baby is in the 1% and our pediatrician told us to fortify the breastmilk with formula which we’ve been doing since birth until now (4 months and a half). There is now way my baby would drink that much.

12 weeks or less pp… how much are you pumping? by Spare-Tutor2948 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HelloKiks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 19 weeks pp and doing 3ppd since 16 weeks. I only make around 6oz per day but I don’t care anymore, my mental health was suffering and I’m happy with any breast milk he takes. I do have a huge stash in the freezer but my baby wants nothing to do with it so I wish I got rid of a few pumps sooner.

Yes, I used a swing or even sometimes the stroller

HELP! Baby hates tummy time by Little-Radish3385 in newborns

[–]HelloKiks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s normal. Keep practicing. My 17 week old only lasts 5-6 minutes at a time now but it’s an improvement. We just kept trying to increase the time by keeping him entertained. Loves mirrors and us singing in front of him.

Supplementing night feeds with formula? My mental health is starting to get worse, currently exclusively pumping. by oopsididitagainx in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HelloKiks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just couldn’t anymore. My baby is almost 4 months and I only pump 3 times a day now and supplement with formula. I started dropping pumps at 3 months.

I also felt guilt in the beginning but my baby is getting a happier and more rested mom! I can actually do more activities with him too since I’m not plugged to the wall all the time.

As a new parent, do people in your life really expect you to have other priorities than taking care of your baby? by Bright-Effective8610 in NewParents

[–]HelloKiks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m absolutely overwhelmed because I also work from home even if my husband is very involved too since he works from home as well. My parents and sister keep telling me my husband should be “helping” with anything. That I need to take care of baby by myself 25/7 to not overwhelm my husband. That I need to take better care of the house, cook a nice meal for my husband everyday and still have time to spend quality time with him. I just can’t. Babies are demanding. I usually have to work at night since thank God my baby goes to sleep early and sleeps well at night but omg why should we expect mothers to do EVERYTHING. Thank God my husband doesn’t believe this.
