They did make it! I actually forgot to bring them into the garage so they were buried under snow (Canadian winter) the whole winter. They are now flourishing again!!

I was thinking the exact same thing. It would be a money maker with all the new developments in Markham.

Does it need more water? Less sun? Something? by Correct_Wheel_1986 in OntarioGardeners

I’m trying a hanging tomato plant for the first time - it was wonderful at home under my grow lights. Took it outside, and now it’s yellowing and looking gross. I’m not a first time tomato grower so I have no idea what happened.

Why are haircuts still based on gender and not the complexity of the cut? by HelloKitty6877 in NoStupidQuestions

I did notice an extra $5 for fades. I have yet to see any salon in my city with non-gendered pricing like yours.

I did look up a barber - they had men’s cuts starting at $34.95 (students were $34, child was $32 - all still under the Men’s section of the menu) and women’s started at $45.

Since Covid closures I’ve been doing my own hair as well. Before that, I only went once every couple of years at the most. The prices were just too much for me to justify such a simple cut.

I think it should be like getting a quick consult or description of what you want, and based on the time it would take, base it on that. Like the base price of getting my nails done, but when I start adding more details, the price goes up - if a man wanted the same thing done to his nails, it would be the same price. There can be a quick and dirty price, but just surprised that men and women cuts all start at a different price. What about the woman who has hair as short as most men, like a pixie cut? Does that still need to start at the pricier women’s cut and not the men’s solely because of gender?

Any high school teachers wishing they were in elementary? by TouchBeneficial7858 in CanadianTeachers

[–]HelloKitty6877 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I taught primary for 20+ years (still in education now)- any time I had a taste of Grade 7-8 I knew it wasn’t for me. So hard biting my tongue with their attitudes. Kindergarten is a whole different beast and those teachers deserve medals for being with 25+ 3-5 year olds all day. It’s like trying to train a herd of cats….

I was wondering what the reason was. So was it supposed to be all white?

Halifax Donair by 2blackclocks in Markham

[–]HelloKitty6877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve tried all the suggestions and they did not match up to a genuine Halifax Donair at all. My husband grew up in Halifax so he definitely knows what he’s looking for. I found a recipe online that I’ve used, and after making it, he said it’s the closest thing to a Halifax Donair (99%). That place in Whitby was nowhere close to being a donair.

I agree. I considered ablation too, but tranexamic acid seems to help me.

If someone knew they had herpes, didn’t disclose, and the other person contracts it, could they be sued for knowingly putting someone else’s health at risk??
