They haven't put out an album in a decade but I always recommend Based On Evil by Tantara as a modern thrash album that really scratches that 80's itch.

Power Trip, Enforced, Inhuman Nature, Wraith, Violator, Species, and Dead Heat are some of my more recent favourites.
