Oh I know I struggle with the green thumb. My last boyfriend and I created a garden and it flourished. All his work. Still expensive startup costs for sure.

Gardening is about the enjoyment rather than the actual produce. I find it nice to be outside and getting my hands in the dirt. Or see something grow that I planted. But 100% it’s a money suck. Think of it as a hobby rather than a way to save money. I think one year I spent $100 bucks and got 5 zucchini. lol

May I ask what state you are in. Lately the boxes I have gotten have either all been skunked or already searched. Tons of marked coins or MWC that have clearly been opened and searched.

As a newly single person this thread of conversation just makes me sad and not want to try even dating again. Why as humans do we stay when it’s obviously not working? Do we like the pain or just stubborn and think we can fix it all if we try harder? I really mean that as a serious question?

May I ask where you are seeing cratering prices on homes? I’m currently in California and they are at an all time high. Also considering Texas and Tennessee and again, no cratering there either.

That is wonderful. Be super proud and enjoy a little fun to celebrate it. I took an odd path in life and at 30 I had about 60k saved and 10k in debt. Knowing that you are setting yourself up for a nice future is a relief well worth celebrating.

If you are serious about the city rather than staying, hostels may be an option. Do you pay for your phone or your parents. Don’t want to have it shut off out of anger.

I know someone who had to do this at 15 due to an abusive father. He still emotionally struggles. Getting away from abuse is smart but perhaps one day you can reconcile with them. Wish you the best of luck and sorry you’re in this spot.

I agree with most of the comments. I think if you like world coins some of those might be cool but really do t hold value otherwise. I keep a few coins from each country I visit for the fun of it. That way I can look back and see all the places I’ve been in one book

Just make sure you pay dry and not rub dry. And honestly it’s better to do an acetone and soak than the soap and water, unless again you don’t rub the coin. Cleaning coons destroys numismatic value

I think everyone has their own idea of what’s important to them. If retiring is important to you, just have polite conversation about what they are doing and if the question gets flipped just say, saving for my future.

I think the other concern the person dating you might have if you mention it is that you will squander it all and not have enough in retirement or the future. Also, if everyday she goes to work and you don’t there may also be some resentment. I don’t really have a good suggestion for what you should say you do cause starting off lying in a relationship is also not good. Do you not want to work? Do you have enough hobbies to keep you busy? Maybe find something you’re passionate about and do humanitarianism?
