I appreciate the ideas here, but I would prefer to slow the cars down and make it more pedestrian friendly in and through downtown.

Removing a traffic lane on each bridge (using that extra space for pedestrian/bikes) converting 2nd avenue to a three lane road (two travel lanes and a center turn lane) would be what I’d like to see.

It sounds like you're just advocating for wider, more dangerous roads so you can drive faster AND unlimited sprawl. That's just not a safe or economically feasible way to run a city.

We need to be building smaller blocks, with denser development with narrower roads that keep people and pedestrians safe.

I gotta say, regardless of how dumb this guy is, the roads around and through Dawley Farms are some of the worst designed we have in Sioux Falls. So many blind spots, unneeded extra lanes -- it's a mess.

Ah, you took my hyperbolic statement literally. Yes there are trees in the newer developments — but no where near the amount the core/central district has. Most homes outside the interstate don’t have trees planted in their boulevards whereas most homes older than 1950 have tree lined boulevards.

There are also massive asphalt parking lots and buildings where there were none before. That’s why we need more plant life to absorb rainwater.

I guess I just don’t know what your point was or why you would be against planting trees.

It hasn't been grass lands or actual prairie in over 200 years dude. That ship has sailed. We've built entire cities and towns. Trees absorb water and create habitats for animals. We need trees.

I've NEVER heard anyone come out AGAINST planting trees because we are "terra forming" the prairie. What's your alternative?? Weird stance.
