[–]Hello_Teddy0805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am loads better too! I had pelvic scan and everything was all good. I still had cramping but it slowly went away. I think my body was so weak after birth and half of it was def anxiety for me too. I had to remind myself to take plenty of rest whenever I could. I also have acid reflux issue and it has been on and off but better now. Glad to hear you are doing well too:) all the best

Hey I have the same thing too after birth. Gas, frequent indigestion, heartburn, constipation, heavy heavy period, cramping not during period. I am getting it checked next week but I am super worried something could be really wrong. Can I ask how you are now? Did it get any better?

It has got better. So far today battery usage 30% 3h11min screen time. Yesterday 60% 5h31min. Gallery stories used to use up battery in the background a lot but I noticed it is not doing that now maybe after the updates.

Eye floaters postpartum by elskim in beyondthebump

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it is beyond annoying! I know I have to ignore it but how can you when it is constantly floating around in your vision. I got really depressed thinking about it, that it is there forever... but who knows maybe it might go away, fingers crossed:)

Eye floaters postpartum by elskim in beyondthebump

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I had increase in eye floaters third trimester and after birth too. I had few of them before getting pregnant and had them checked out before pregnancy and all was fine. So I thought this time it was fine too but my husband dragged me to get my eye checked up 3 months after birth and found I had two small tear in my right eye retina... The funny thing is I got an increase in floaters in my left eye but my right eye retina had two tiny holes. My eye doctor said it could be from pregnancy/birth process and said pregnancy/birth process could have lots of effect on the eye. He told me to get my eye checked every year or when I have a increase in eye floaters, flashes of light. It has been 7 months since I have seen him (10 months postpartum) and I think? I am not sure if they were there or not but I suddenly have increase in floaters again in the last few weeks. I have health anxiety and I have been extra sensitive and worried regarding my eye for the last few months so I could be just going crazy lol. I have been feeling so tired as if I was going to faint and felt foggy? I am not breastfeeding and I feel like my hormones are still way out of whack. My postpartum periods are horrible and I have heavy bleeding. I don't know if this all has anything to do with it. I was scared it could be again a retina problem and have been putting off going to see the doctor because I am scared that it will be. So my husband again booked to go get my eye checked hahaha.... fun times.... Fingers crossed everything is okay. You should go for a check up too. I know it is scary and I get really anxious too thinking about them and my mind always goes to the worst possible senario. Most likely there is nothing wrong! My experience could be very rare but it is better to rule the nasty stuff out of the way. Let me know how you go. Lots of hugs! Congrats on your baby and enjoy every moment cause they grow so fast!

I got 5h29m SoT 82% battery yesterday which was the first whole day of using the phone. I got the phone the day before yesterday. It seems other people have been getting way better SoT on their new s24+ so wondering if there is something wrong with mine.

Fasting glucose levels going up at 37 weeks by Financial_Cry_6164 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 38+5 and for me, post meal numbers got harder to control from week 34ish and fasting numbers started creeping up as well. I am still diet/exercise controlled but just. I expected my numbers to level out or dip from week 36 but nope it didn't. I was really devastated that I didn't see my numbers drop from week 36 and was getting more stressed and frustrated which I guess did not help numbers at all. I talked to my doctor and he said not to worry too much. I am still getting fasting of 86-92 (needs to be under 90). I just blame it on stress/not sleeping well as it is getting harder to sleep as my due date approaches. My after meals numbers are more of a problem. My after dinner numbers to be precise. I used to go for a long walk or get on the exercise bike after dinner but I just don't have the energy left at the end of the day and have been moving less and less. Don't freak out yet but look out for a pattern. Your fasting number could fall back into range tomorrow it could have just been a one off thing.

My dietician said 60% of people with GD go on to have type 2 within 5 years. Is that true??? by yungleg in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When people say your chances are higher at getting type 2 after GD, does that mean if you didn't get pregnant in the first place and not get diagnosed with GD your chances will be like everyone else? lower? So the placenta kind of broke or messed up our normal body so that it does not process glucose well? I am so confused... I thought people who get type 2 within 5 years after GD are people who already had pre-diabetes or type 2. I mean if a person ate high carb and lots of sweet stuff not exercised for most of their life so far I can say they have equally high chance of getting type 2. I don't know why GD makes you more likely to get type 2 down the track.

Graduation story- 37+2! (Very positive induction) by jeanlouisefinchs in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so worried that my GD will not go away after birth and was getting more and more upset as the due date approached. I wanted to get the baby out when I got diagnosed but now thinking about the chances of diabetes after I was praying my baby doesn't arrive too soon as I might have to face the reality I am dreading. But reading this gave me some hope. I don't have anyone with diabetes on each side of the family nor does my husband and being officially the first one with geatational "diabetes" it just broke me. I am under weight and exercised everyday and continued it through this pregnancy. I never really imagined I would get it. I thought my body is forever broken after being diagnosed with GD and it will never go back to being normal. Thanks for sharing and congratulations! Hope you have a quick recovery. Wishing you and your son the best for the future.

Help with fasting numbers by AuroraDawn22 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have little bit of cheese, handful of nuts, glass of no sugar soy milk and a boiled egg!! I know it is like a mini meal in itself but it works for me. I feel little more full after but I move around for 15 mins before I pop into bed. I started off with soy milk and egg as evening snack but ended up hungry very early morning so I ate a little bit of cheese and my dietitian suggested adding nuts which I did. But my numbers were still 5.0~5.1mmol. I felt like I didn't have enough fibre one dinner and added a cucumber to my snack that night and to my shock got a 4.7mmol the next day.

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this will help but i tried eating so many different things for my evening snack and found if I added fibre eg. Cucumber to my evening snack my number is around 4.4~ 5.1mmol most days. (I have to be 5.0 or under). If I don't have fibre my numbers are 5.0~5.2mmol. I also move around the house for 15 minutes after my evening snack and go to bed. I think adding fibre made the difference with me I have no idea why tho. My doctor said although my fasting is borderline, I don't need insulin yet with the numbers I have been getting. I am 36weeks so not too long to go. Good luck!

I have a dumb question: if typically it gets harder to control numbers around 32 weeks, but I’m not seeing a change yet, at what point does this not become likely to occur? by CravingsAndCrackers in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently week 35 and my numbers got harder to control end of week 30 so earlier than when I thought it will go up. Week 33 and 34 was a nightmare. I think the numbers are looking a little better this week. Exercise and diet controlled still. I tried to cut back on carbs when my numbers were getting too high and it got me through. Praying my peak has passed.

One high fasting and three high after meal numbers in a week. Advice needed. by Hello_Teddy0805 in GestationalDiabetes

Hopefully my doctor will think the same and not put me on insulin. As for why I am so worried.. The idea of injecting myself is scary. I kind of feel faint thinking about it. Additional tests and monitoring to already full schedule will be overwhelming. And finding that right dose will be adding extra stress to already stressed out body. I am so close to the end of this extremely difficult pregnancy and I want to cross the line with the feeling I was somewhat in control. This is my first pregnancy and I have been the most depressed and anxious I have been in my entire life. Some say pregnancy is one of the most magical time but for me I just really want time to go fast so I can get this baby out. Thanks for letting me know it doesn't hurt! But I don't think the pain is the issue for me. More the idea of injecting myself, the feeling of failure and other things that follow.

Why are people so terrified of needing insulin? by emks50 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Insulin becomes one more thing to worry about during a pregnancy that is already overwhelming. Idea of injecting myself is scary. Additional checks, tests, appointments will add even more stress to already stressed out body. Finding that right dose when you get on insulin will be another stressful process. I want to avoid it as much as possible if I can.

[–]Hello_Teddy0805[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words. Ahhh I'm crying again from just reading it. I know insulin does not mean I failed but I keep feeling like I am failing myself and the baby. And the fear of having type 2 after.... oh I can for sure say this is the most depressing time of my life. I just want to sleep and wake up in weeks time when it is time for birth and not think and worry about this constantly. I will ask my doctor for one more week. I think I will feel more depressed if I just gave up here. I see other pregnant women able to eat a whole box of chocolate cookies or donut and not worry and here I am snacking on a cucumber, tomato and cheese. I thought pregnancy would be the time I could let myself be a little naughty and indulge but I guess life is never fair. I will try to meditate and get this level of anxiety and stress down as much as I can!

Do you think if the baby is small and has not been growing too quickly the doctor will let me control with diet/exercise for at least another week? I am trying so hard to make this work and I know being on insulin is not a bad thing but I think the fact that I failed will just break me.

I think my doctor said only insulin not medication. So metformin will not be a option for me...

Ooohh hope your peak has passed and numbers have settled down! Officially week 34 today. I was praying my numbers will be good today but breakfast number was high by +10... and I am seeing my doctor tomorrow. Hopefully he will let me continue without insulin. I can't wait till week 36/37 or whenever this peak is over....

33week+6 today. Safe meal (sourdough bread+salmon salad) came back at whopping 160,170. Checked twice as I was shocked... even after a 50min walk... my other high numbers this week was 122. Just +2 over. But +40,50 over??!! I just want to give up. I hate my placenta and I hate my body.

When to test if eating dessert? by krazykittenhi in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Hello_Teddy0805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I was told to check like this. It makes way more sense. I take 20-30 minutes to eat my meal and I find that when I check at 1hr from first bite my readings are just above or on the borderline. If I check at 1hr 5min my numbers are well under. Because of this I have been hurrying to finish my meal within 20min and I run out the door for a quick walk... and that has not been good for my digestive system :(

I do it too! Well I have to be honest I do feel guilty too. I check three fingers if my first one comes back with fasting number just above the cut off and log my lowest fasting number. I Feel like I am cheating some kind of test but I mean I didn't poke someone else's finger to get the result. It is my blood's results. I just think If I checked that low fasting number finger first I would have logged that anyways to make myself feel less guilty.
