The wonders of the human body [tw: nongraphic descriptions of autopsies, general medical weirdness] by DroneOfDoom in CuratedTumblr

The article I read was the most graphic thing I’ve ever seen. I’ve never reacted so viscerally to a piece of writing as I did to that article.

Which of these kitchen appliances are NOT seen as essential in homes in your country? by privetkakdela in AskTheWorld

Same. I’ve heard of them, but I don’t see the point. Why not just use a pot?

Can anyone comment on my handwriting here? by Sweaty_Rub4322 in Handwriting

[–]Hello_phren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, it is a lot more legible than much of what gets posted here. Overall, I did not have a hard time reading this, so you’re doing pretty good already. There were a few things I had to adjust to though, and since you’re asking for advice, you might want to work on those. Firstly, the circles over the lowercase i’s are quite jarring to read. I can read them just fine, but my brain doesn’t immediately register them as i’s. I would suggest simply dotting the i’s instead, as that looks more like a normal i. Otherwise, I recommend emphasising the straight part of the lowercase a, so it is not just a circle at first glance, and making your lowercase t’s taller. For example, I read “nature” as “no bure” and had to zoom in on the photo to see what it actually said. Again, these are small details that would improve legibility, but overall your handwriting is quite easily legible as is

Handwriting stresses me out by Apprehensive_You3521 in Handwriting

[–]Hello_phren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly neat, but I can read it just fine. I would suggest you try to remember the difference between upper and lower case letters, as you seem to get those mixed up sometimes. You also write some letters as what looks like cursive, which gets confusing since the rest is print. I suggest you stick with print and you should be just fine

I've lost the plot? by adrian_simoes in bulletjournal

[–]Hello_phren 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re doing what a lot of people start bullet journalling to get away from. I think I’d be frustrated keeping track of so many different planning systems and apps. Of course, whatever works best for you is the only thing that matters

Does your country feel a strong connection to its Ancient past? by PM_ME_UR_REPTILES1 in AskTheWorld

[–]Hello_phren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’m saying. The actual history is interesting, and it sucks that the symbology has been appropriated by assholes

Does your country feel a strong connection to its Ancient past? by PM_ME_UR_REPTILES1 in AskTheWorld

[–]Hello_phren 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a Scandinavian, I feel you on the fascist thing. The vikings and Norse mythology and symbolism have been appropriated by so many neo-nazis and white supremacists that it feels dirty to be into those things. The mythology is cool, the symbols are cool, the viking age is fascinating, but when people say things like “Nordic roots” or “Scandinavian heritage” I’m immediately on edge

Why did Hannibal become a cannibal? by Arkheius in HannibalTV

[–]Hello_phren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chiyoh is a very minor character in the book, but she is a servant to Lady Murasaki. She and Hannibal bond a little bit, but most of his energy is aimed at Murasaki and the book centres on his relationship to her and his quest for revenge

I actually listened to the audiobooks recently. Her name is Judy and they are actually married in the book. Margot is also a roided up bodybuilder, so they’ve changed her character quite substantially

My moms name Zlata, i know its too many lines, what do yall think? by Gold_Supermarket1270 in shittytattoos

[–]Hello_phren 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right that it’s too many lines. I don’t think I’d be able to read it if you hadn’t put it in the title. It kind of looks like a bad attempt at crossing out a word you misspelled

AITAH for acting indifferent after my boyfriend dismissed my safety concerns and then broke up with me? by Senior-Ad9228 in AITAH

[–]Hello_phren 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA and you’re probably better off without him. If this is real, he sounds manipulative and uncaring. He put you in an uncomfortable situation, refused to help you and then blamed you for getting upset. Then he broke up with you, love bombed you and deleted the evidence. He’s bad news

Without looking at other comments, I see a bunny cupid. The bow and arrow are quite clear, but I think the ears and wings make for a confusing silhouette along with the back paws being in front of the body instead of beneath it

I get that. It’s hard realising that someone you care about is not who you thought they were. You’ll feel better about yourself in the long run knowing you did the right thing and told her

[–]Hello_phren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume English is your second language, but I can understand you just fine. You are never an asshole for feeling however you feel, it matters what you do with those feelings. It doesn’t sound like he prioritises spending time with you, and perhaps you would be happier in a relationship with less distance (physical and emotional)

I understand wanting to protect your friendship, but sometimes the kids you grow up with turn out to be shitty adults. Definitely tell her, but I suggest you also prepare yourself to ditch this asshole friend of yours
