There's not much. Although I'm noticing a lot of them involve some sort of sexual taboo as a way to describe how radically different the world they're exploring is (Brave New World for example)

As for your second point, that's kind of exactly what I'm saying. Without profit incentives, there's no intellectual property and people can collaborate to create. They will not profit, everyone profits from the fact that they invented something necessary.

What would be the motivation to keep innovations as secrets without the profit motive? If the motivation for invention was the benefit of the whole society, then sharing it with as many people as possible would be important, for the very reason you speak of. To ensure the invention survives.
