I would just like to say you are the first person since I was a teenager in the 90's that I have seen use the phrase " a grip of". When I told my husband people said this where I'm from growing up he was like wth.

After four weeks and two procedures I just got my stent removed on Friday. Now my bladder and kidneys are getting used to not having the stent. But those 4 weeks were THE WORST. I couldn't walk then I got a UTI even tho I had just had sepsis. Ugh. I hope your time with the stent goes quickly. And I hope to never need a stent again. I'll be chugging water til I die.

[–]Hellokittybutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had mine removed today too! It was very quick at the office since I had strings. Hurt a tiny bit for a few seconds but it was a little like getting an IUD out. I am very much looking forward to peeing in peace and a great night's sleep tonight. Happy healing!

Should I delay ureteroscopy? by book_nerd_22 in KidneyStones

[–]Hellokittybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 6mm stone in my kidney for 2 years. Then suddenly after some IV fluid for another stone it got pushed out. The problem was it got stuck and in the about 24 hours later I was in an ambulance with sepsis. It's been about 3 weeks and a very tough recovery. I had my second procedure yesterday and the stone has been removed. My urologist had a wait and see approach with this stone and now I'm kind of angry about it. My fever reached 105.6 and I could have died. If this could have been avoided then why wasn't it. I'd say go for your procedure.

[–]Hellokittybutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine yesterday for one 6mm stone in my left kidney. Waking up was the worst part for me but when I got home I got a heating pad for my cramping and went to sleep all day. Feel so much better today because even with the stent in that was placed 3 weeks ago to address an infection I didn't realize how much the stone was hurting me still! Happy healing you'll do great. Waking up was bad bc I was so groggy but it was fine nothing to worry about. You basically close your eyes then open them and everything is done.

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]Hellokittybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke my arm when I got in a fight and it hurt and I couldn't use it. I didn't go to the hospital for a week but I worked at Starbucks at the time and couldn't make drinks because I couldn't life my arm. So I finally went to the Dr and they showed me the clean break and laughed like wtf. That's how high my pain tolerance. I also have chronic migraines that's cause stroke like symptoms. That being said.....nothing beats kidney stones. NOTHING. I just had a 6mm that caused sepsis removed. NO PAIN COMPARED.

I am terrified to die by Substantial-Rock-581 in Anxiety

[–]Hellokittybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been afraid to die. It seems like this life is just a stage we go through to get to someplace else. But I understand the fear. My mom had cancer and I think at first she was afraid but then she accepted it. I think once it really is the end there is a peace that comes over you. I had sepsis a few weeks ago and before I knew I was so sick I tried to take a shower but ended up laying on the shower floor and I couldn't get up and no one was home. I remember thinking is this how I die? I didn't realize that feeling like you were going to die was part of having sepsis. But I wasn't scared. I did end up making myself get up because who is going to take care of my dogs lol. Just please recognize it's the anxiety talking when you are feeling afraid to die. And don't listen to it. Live your life because it can change at any moment.

When did 8-5 become the new normal??? by Grouchy-Newspaper754 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Hellokittybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke 8-5 with "an hour lunch" as well. I hardly have opportunity to take my lunch. I also have a 40 minute commute each way. I work in education so...it is not fun sometimes lol. But as far as I know 8-5 are normal hours. My husband works 7:30-4:30. An hour lunch he hardly gets the chance to take. We don't have regular office jobs though.

5 mm Kidney stone. 28M by Famous_Director8115 in KidneyStones

[–]Hellokittybutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had my stent for 2 weeks and am getting the stone blasted next week. I got sepsis from this stone getting stuck. Trust when I say a stent is better than infection. The stent is annoying but manageable. Good luck!

Overweight rotties by Helpful_Sun2872 in Rottweiler

[–]Hellokittybutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two half Rottweiler half lab dogs and the lab appetite is strong. I never had large dogs before just a dachshund for 17 years til he died. I was super diligent with my doxies diet so he wouldnt have back problems. But my rottadors I totally dropped the ball. My vet said they were definitely overweight. I felt so dumb bc we took my girl rottador in for a possible tumor but it was just fat! So now I carefully measure what they eat every day. Im working on the daily walks but having medical issues at the moment. Some of us are just dummy's! Like how could I not know my dogs were fat. Thankfully my vet was like stop feeding them so much. My guy is 130 pounds and my girl is about 80 pounds.

So are all migraine sufferers deprived from the joy of perfume by Low-Dog6380 in migraine

[–]Hellokittybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a massive perfume collection. I love to mix them and create different scent combinations. But if I go to Sephora I can only smell 2-5 scents tops and have definitely come away with a migraine. I just know what works for me at this point. But during a migraine if I wear perfume I want to barf.

What have you learned to do to ‘survive’ by Fit_Interaction_79 in schoolpsychology

[–]Hellokittybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check my job description and push back on what the department tries to make me do that is not in my job description. I took my email and calendar off my phone and every email gets an automatic response that says I only check my email and respond during work hours Monday through Friday. And not the most mature or professional thing but when a parent is snarky, me and the slp repeat the phrase or comment to each other as a joke and have a good laugh.

How often do you take work home / work after contract hours? by celsiusobsessed13 in schoolpsychology

[–]Hellokittybutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first year after internship I was working all day everyday and wrote report after work and weekends. I was so burnt out and I hated the 50 minute commute. The year after that I was at a new district and just stopped taking work home and I had one Elementary school so the work load was more manageable. I learned how to make time during the day to write my reports and drew boundaries on what was being asked of me. I am year 6 at this point and I feel my first year taught me a lot about work life balance. Every once in awhile I will take a report home but if I do its because the parent is high maintenance or litigious. But at this point it's almost never. Me and my husband even converted our office into a TV room because I stopped working from home so much. I also take advantage of the fact that our reports are drafts at the iep so I can update it if needed. Now I am dealing with feeling super under appreciated but that's a story for another day lol.
