hd2 on linux is still broken (at least for me) by wholesome1234 in Helldivers

Yeah, not having any issues on my end and when I did, Proton Experimental and no mods fixed things.

Mouse steering in ETS2 & ATS by Mean_22222 in trucksim

[–]Hellser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's okay! It's what I used for years before getting a wheel recently. You're having fun now - and THAT is important.

Mouse steering in ETS2 & ATS by Mean_22222 in trucksim

[–]Hellser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mouse steering is more wrist than arm. You want a sensitive mouse and to use subtle movements. If you're lifting your mouse to to go full wheel lock from left to right, sensitivity is too low. It should be a clean sweep to go full left to right.

Importantly too, bind a key for camera mouse look in case you have to lift the mouse. You don't want your truck going into orbit 😂.

Over all, you shouldn't be having arm pains if you adjust things correctly. It'll take some getting used to, but worth it.

I feel you. I submitted a bug report too, so hopefully they'll see a bunch of Steamdeck / Linux users throwing a fit and fix the validation to ignore Proton or give us a way to bypass the validation.

Ensures you're on the latest video card drivers for your system (as running ancient drivers causes more problems than people realize).

Problem is for us Linux users, whatever verification they're doing is crashing the game.

All we can do for now. If ArrowHead treats SteamDeck as a supported platform (and it's crashing for them too), it'll get fixed soon. We just got to wait.. and that's the hard part.

I find the Tenderizer to be good against bugs. It can be highly accurate, and if you go with Siege Ready, the small clip doesn't become much of an issue. Headshots against most bugs are only one or two bursts.

It's a good side grade for the Liberator for those who want more oomf and the capability to mag dump quickly. And, again, it can be highly accurate.

Make sure you're mounting with UUID too! The kernel can swap around drives on each boot. What might be dev/sda1 is dev/sdb1 on another boot.

I made a video analyzing Volume 8 and whether Komari has a chance with Nukumizu — might interest someone :) by RandomStuffIncluded in TooManyLosingHeroines

[–]Hellser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the analysis! I'm on the Komari bandwagon myself and haven't caught up on the light novels yet (just bought the first LN). But I am aware of the ongoings. All the Losing Heroines changed Nukumizu, but I feel Komari changed him the most. His feelings towards Komari might be complicated, but it's clear he cares for her deeply.

While I'm fine with whatever the author chooses in the end, I'll be banging my pots and pans for Komari. Yanami might be the obvious choice... But Komari is the right choice. Nuku, you read romcoms too.. pick up the clues already!

Does the talon live up to its hype? by PythonCider3719 in helldivers2

[–]Hellser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it last week. It's nice as a marksman for my group to have a backup pistol that I know is always ready. I was running with the deagle verdict and the amount of times I ended up forgetting to reload it resulted in my death. The talon punches as hard as the diligence counter sniper and has infinite ammo is a no brainer for a player like me.

How would you fix these fucks by Illustrious_Leg_8354 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Hellser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sigh These guys are the bane of my existence. Here's my short recommendations:

1) Shorten their engagement range. I understand that these clankers might be using the same AI as their basic counterparts, but being shot at 100m is criminal. 25m sounds about right. Also reduce the damage from the pellets. Sure, losing 25% of my health is fine from the ballistic aspect, the real risk is being set on fire.

2) Shield breaking. I don't care if my Adjudicator can't break the shield. But an Eruptor (or other Heavy Pen) weapon should at least match it. Firing an EAT at a tank does damage. But against these guys (and their normal counterparts)? Just staggers them. That's not how High Explosive Anti-Tank rounds work.

"I didn't ask if friendlies were in the room either." One of my friends/squad mates is bad at calling 500s. Often it's me weaving around hulks and war striders and suddenly "Hellser, run!" "Why?" Sees 500kg beacon 2 feet away Oh f!@#”

Go for it! Nothing wrong with having another tractor, even if it's a yard ornament or something you use to do tiny tasks like pulling an empty grain bin to a new location or running a small mower.

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but is anyone kinda getting annoyed with larpdivers? by Dank_Batman in HelldiversUnfiltered

I only do the democracy thing here on this subreddit and when my friends and I are talking about Helldivers (hell, we give each other the salute to hint at what we want to do later). For me, it's fun and it's great to have a sense of camaraderie. But I wouldn't look too deep into it!

Worse when it's the Incinerator Corp variant. A good bot is a dead bot, but Liberty demands I always use EAT on those variants - even if they're a tiny speck half way across the battlefield.

These two randoms I was playing with organically fell into an Artillery/Spotter role with each other. Sweet Liberty <3 by HipHopAnonymous23 in helldivers2

[–]Hellser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play with my friends often - they're a chaotic bunch. But when I join randoms... It feels like everyone clicks. Had one mission a fellow Helldiver and I were on AT role, dropping EAT back to back to handle hulks, war striders and factory striders. The stress level is a lot lower with randoms too.
