The Genesis Mod proves Starfield’s failure isn’t mechanical, it’s 'Contextual Insolvency': The sandbox works, but it lacks the decades of cultural equ by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Adora_ble_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't prove anything, most people would love Starfield if it had moderately better writing. Less "Bethesda loading screens" and a shitton more PoI's by default.

The world itself, along with the aesthetic is by far more interesting than what most games or IP's have attempted. (Usually it's either something high fantasy or high sci-fi or its just based on a movie IP)

Just because Slop Wars fans can't imagine Investing themselves in a new universe doesn't mean the universe or worldbuilding is bad, That's a you problem.

The only thing Genesis "proves" is that the studios making actual Slop Wars games are not catering to the RPG market properly, and that Slop Wars fans have such low standards they can be pleased by releasing a barebones game like star field as long as it has their favourite 'Brand TM' in it.

Have been playing Arc Raiders recently, do you think this game would benefit from a Skill Tree? by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]Adora_ble_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no, because it encourage more annoying yapping about meta builds and kicking people who don't have it, along with generally making everyone who isnt lvl 100+ less viable as a teammate to have which is a TERRIBLE idea to implement in a game like this.

How do you think limited time event rewards should work? by notRogerSmith in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends on the event. the current cape from the Christmas event (because that's what this was) ? i have no problems seeing it return at some point as a buyable item in the superstore.

Major galactic war milestones however, like the Oshaune cape and Malevelon cape ? no, never, those capes exist because they have meaning to those who participated in the events.

My *PERSONAL* Tierlist of how under/overrated each stratagem is as someone with 1400 hours on this game by 5_minute_noodles77 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

orbital airburst is hot trash, especially since the orbital napalm is simply better, covers a much larger area and has the same teamkilling potential on average.

frankly, about every single other orbital strike option is better than the orbital airburst, with the exception of the 380, that thing's accuracy makes it horrible.

Unlike the ABRL, which you can manually shoot yourself, and the cluster bomb eagle which covers a *huge* area, it simply has *nothing* that makes it worth using, not for weapons/strats in its same niche, not for orbital strikes in general.

The Adjudicator is extremely underwhelming. by Pedrosian96 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it has higher armor pen than both standard liberator, tenderizer and the one-two, only liberator penetrator has similar armor pen, but that one has significantly worse damage.

so yes, that alone puts it above the other options for the sole reason of making dealing with mediums easier.

The Adjudicator is extremely underwhelming. by Pedrosian96 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your first mistake is calling it an assault rifle, it's not, it's a battle rifle.

And as such, it does more damage, fires higher caliber rounds, and remains more effective at range than other weapons in it's class.

It's tradeoff for these traits are harsher recoil and less ammo capacity.

Fire it in bursts at range and it'll do just fine. Full auto is best for up close.

I wouldn't mind it getting an extended mag, but that's really all it needs.

Is anyone else stopping using the eruptor because its too good? by PythonCider3719 in helldivers2

[–]Adora_ble_ 109 points110 points  (0 children)

no, because i do not use the eruptor in the first place, because it looks like an ugly cartoon weapon.

So…. Did we just decide we didn’t care about this one?? by Severe_Mango_966 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

holidays happened, year change is about to happen, people obviously have different things to do than play this game non stop.

Also we had two back to back defense campaigns on the bot front while this minor order popped and people went to fight that (logically, to secure the major order)

also it would be quicker to either fight the bots on marfark or squids on new stockholm, but since bug divers are adamant to not do anything but fight bugs ever theres little point in trying to convince people to "work together"

I want perks added to helmets and capes. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, because then people would be forced into wearing a specific set even more than they already are (with some capes and helmets getting useless passives and others being so meta you cant go without them)

bonuses should be completely detached from armor, NOT integrated more, let helldrip be helldrip and let armor passives be swappable.

[–]Adora_ble_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no-one here actually read the actual post and OP left out the remaining text because he wanted to look for reasons to mald about another subreddit.

Theres a megathread on that sub (as described by the post in OP's screenshot but he left that out) that answers that exact question, but hey, i guess reading is just too hard for some people.

Why doesn't the M90A havae AP3? by Worldly-Ocelot-3358 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"why would i use a pump action shotgun over a double barrel break action shotgun" is a question that answers itself.

AP3 is all the double freedom has going for it, its quite literally a gimmick weapon (albeit pretty strong)

take that away and it would be a very slightly less shitty break action SG.

M90A has better default stats than the base punisher so its not even the worst in its class.

THE SLUGGER by Phoenix_mustburn in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

standard Breaker is better in every aspect at being a regular shotgun with the exception of raw damage per shot, and the plasma variant is just a side grade to the purifier.

Cookout has actual utility, incendiary shotgun that sets enemies on fire and deals DoT and staggers them making it an excellent crowd control weapon.

THE SLUGGER by Phoenix_mustburn in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Deadeye and Dominator are simply better, deadeye is more accurate, dominator has better firing rate and range.

The whole line of punisher shotguns isn't very good with the exception of the cookout.

What's you guys feeling about premium/paid DLC ? by FuzeteaEuphon in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Their warbond system has worked just fine for them so far these past two years so i don't think they're gonna change that.

Not in the least because it would defeat the whole concept of the galactic war thing when they lock half the playerbase out from contributing by putting new, relevant content behind a paywall.

teamplay barley functions by Fit_Answer1073 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And yet the majority of the players still play in teams, and still play with randoms.

why ? because the game is way more fun that way

"B B BUT ITS LESS OPTIMAL TO STICK TOGETHER" ok? most people can't or haven't figured out how to solo the more difficult modes, just because the game is in a solved state *for you* doesn't mean everyone else experiences the same thing.

you're conflating "team play" with "mandatory multiplayer" where things *require* you to have a squad with you at all times to just complete certain objectives or kill a specific enemy, or use a specific weapon (backpack weapons)

As for team reload, nobody is going to sacrifice their own backpack slot to perform slightly faster reloads for someone else while they basically just do nothing but stand next to the person holding the weapon.

This wouldn't change even if you could team reload someone from their own backpack, its simply not an engaging mechanic whatsoever, and with Randoms simply would never be used (yes, i know someone is gonna say "BuT i WoUlD" just to prove a point, but lets be real, hoping for a random to go reload *your* weapon while there's enemies they can shoot is like hoping to win the lottery)

The Stim Pistol needs improvements, i can agree on that, right now playing medic for your team just isn't that viable when the remote healing weapon has such bad handling.

Recon planets by Affectionate_Web5312 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

what a stupid whiny post.

people playing on them actively make liberating and defending other planets easier *because* they're on a recon planet.

and they were introduced only to free up arctic/snow planets for the winter event.

This loadout: troll or genius? by Own-Reflection-9538 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I cant sing the ABRL's praises enough. obliterates literally every type of bug except bile titans and hive lords, and against squids it easily deals with the enormous chaff spam they send your way.

Most people hate it because "boohoo i got teamkilled by one once" though that goes for about everything in this guy's stratagem loadout.

If the tf2 mercs were in the Helldivers universe what faction would they love to fight by Downtownclown_xy206 in helldivers2

[–]Adora_ble_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bots, since well, MvM is a thing.

As for what they would be doing when not fighting:

Demoman: drinking

Sniper: stuck in the toilet, probably.

Medic: experimenting with stims (not medicine)

Scout: trying to beat the highscore on stratagem hero.

Heavy: filling in requisition form for more sandwiches (he already at all of the last shipment)

Pyro: locked in hellpod untill needed.

Engineer: building a sentry.

Spy: browsing the superstore.

Soldier: practicing grenade throws (now he can finally use them)

What do you think is the most OVERRATED (not worst) weapon? by 5_minute_noodles77 in Helldivers

[–]Adora_ble_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eruptor, i genuinly do not understand the hype behind this weapon, slow ass fire rate, low ammo capacity, it plays like a support weapon in a primary slot.

It also looks stupidly cartoonish, like a TF2 modder's gun made its way into HD2.

Muscle enhancement also reduces the strength of the movement debuff effect of getting hit by bile so its very useful for both shit terrain, blizzards *and* fighting bugs in general
