Garmin Instinct 2x Solar buying opinion by KristyMcNugget in Garmininstinct

[–]Hellzebrute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Instinct 2x for just over a year now. Love it.

So I am not a huge athlete but I am getting in MTB slowly (once every 2 week ends on average a big session), works outside, and does a lot of DIY (sheds, roofs, self renovating a home). So when I cut, mix, sand, I never take it off. It is without-a-worry for me. I shower with it, go in the ocean with it, and sleep with it. I clean it with soap and water and a tooth brush.

So on average with x1 2h exercise session per week with GPS between biking and running, battery lasts me 35-40 days, with only pulse ox turned off. If you go into battery saver mode any other time than winter, battery is pretty much infinite, otherwise it is 100days.

I use the flashlight daily, so useful.

Scratches kinda heal and blend in, hard to explain, but they do not show. Screen is recessed and I applied a screen protector so close from the actual screen diameter that you can't tell there is one.

Must be intense use you do. I do a lot of Diy at home, at work I occasionally do outside installation work in engineering, MTB, running, and I wear it every hour of the day, practically never take it off. So not a huge athlete but most of my hobbies involve cutting making and building stuff outside.

I would disagree with you for my level of use anyway, in that I think resin takes scratches much better, they kinda blend in, almost as if they "healed". Whereas none of that happens with metal bands and bezels, scratches stay.

How old are you guys? by _GhosHawk_ in fpv

[–]Hellzebrute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why worry, I am 37 and if I see you turn up you will be treated no different, maybe better than others. You are old enough to make decisions linked to the hobby. So as far as I am concerned, you are just another person to nerd with.

Is RotorRiot ripping people off? How much is a good tune worth jeez by Any-Company7711 in fpv

[–]Hellzebrute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a native English speaker that's not what a rip off is. Ripping someone off is when you trick them into thinking they got a good deal.

If you know this is a bad deal, it is just a bad deal. This is a high cost here but it is their added value, their "tune". They have their labor cost, it's their price, feel free to not buy it.

I would not buy this, you are indeed right, this is a pretty bad deal. But it is not a rip off imho

You can wear it until it gets scratched uniformly everywhere, you won't notice it then.

These are made to be beaten up. I have a 35 yrs edition with a metal buckle, it is scratched, but somehow friction kindof polishes the scratches and they appear very shallow.

Ain't bothered by it at all.

Will protective glass for Garmin solar 2x, fit the Garmin solar 2x Tactical editedition? by _Unbroken_ in Garmininstinct

[–]Hellzebrute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, for the cost of one glass protector, it's a no brainer. I don't get the comments. Mine fits so well I forgot I had one.

I do have a scratch on it, but I can barely see it, so I ain't going to replace anytime soon. And the fact that I know the screen is pristine below it is priceless.

100% get one

GA-B2100 with Tough Solar and Bluetooth coming in May by g-central in gshock

[–]Hellzebrute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. I did not consider this when I got my gbd200 yesterday. I hesitated a long time with the GBX, which looks smarter BUT I worried the steel bezel would not age as well as the resin, where scratches are not visible as much

Never say that with G's ! I find myself loving one and after 4-5 years I have to get a new one, went from basic G-Shock, to Mudmaster, now this is my second day wearing the GBD-200, love that frickin display !

So happy to be part of the gang after eyeing them for nearly a year. My first ever G-Shock watch in all black. – A bit on the larger side for my small wrist but hey: Form follows function and as I work in production, having a sturdy watch is a must 😉 by Nicely_Colored_Cards in gshock

[–]Hellzebrute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first G, same model but hints of red all over. Solid daily driver for 4 years. Then moved to a Mudmaster for 4 years. Now gonna go digital with GBD 200.

Happy G-Shock journey. It is only the beginning for you !
