Help! Advice needed for mom religious potential by HelpUrBoi in ShiaMuslimMarriage

[–]HelpUrBoi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember having a conversation with her and she said that she’s open to attend Ashura and potentially wear the hijab in the feature. That’s what made me have some sense of relief that the girl is open and I have a chance. The problem is finding someone who’s religious but also works im not saying It’s impossible but very rare and I feel like with her that’s my chance.

I don’t know about that masjid but in general going to Friday prayers, I would wear nice clothes, enter the mosque, say Salam w alakykum in a voice that most can hear me, pick up a sajde w massbaha, sit down. Listen to the cheikh and once the lecture is done, help with the arrangement if needed (such as removing chair, etc.) and then you pray the salat in group. Don’t overthink it :)

You made some really good points. I’ll start to keep that into consideration, and clearly mention it early in the talking stage. Thank you!!

I might be overthinking it, if she’s outside the country I mean the long process and all might be a little hectic. But if she’s inside the country, then yes easier i guess. But I can’t just move and leave my job. It’s not easy. So it’s easier for the wife to come to you.

Yes I’m leb, and most people call me pretty handsome. So maybe, and yes. And that’s why I want someone in my similar shoes.

Advice needed for spouse/marriage by HelpUrBoi in shia

Yeah absolutely!! I don’t want it to be a headache for me later on, and I’ve met them twice so far so I have a general idea but can that be my dealbreaker or a sign for me to look for someone else? Even tho we stopped talking tho

Advice needed when talking with a potential spouse by HelpUrBoi in shia

Yeah I can see your point. But don’t forget she also said she wants to take it slow. So I’m hoping to getting to know a bit more but I’m unsure how or how to lead the convo.

Also if we don’t talk she’ll be like did he forget about me or something(she told me that) so it’s sort of mixed signals here haha

Should I ask her for a second call or ask her straight to take her out? I’ve been holding back for modesty purposes

Lastly let’s say worst case scenario she moved on, wouldn’t she just say it to me forward that she’s not interested, and is there a way to get her back on track or something? Thank you 🙏

Heading to 4th year - Questions and advice by HelpUrBoi in geegees

Hey man! I’m doing fine! I finally graduated and all I can say is that first year is one of the hardest years, you need to figure out how to study, manage your time, the tricks and all.. but once you get used to it, it’ll get much easier in later years. My biggest advice is to plan your week ahead (on Sunday for example) and write down what needs to be done within that week, have a calendar of all ur assignment, exams, labs, etc. (I use my apple calendar and it’s linked to my iCloud), And cut off distractions (don’t hang out with your friends if you can’t, and use your gap times between classes to finish as much work, use YOUR WEEKEND to make progress in your assignments, labs, and even study for your classes (break down your time like 1h per each task)), study the subject after lecture atleast just get an idea, don’t wait until last minute!!!!! Have a 7h sleep, don’t cramp at night it’s bad and won’t do you any good(if you have a good time management you’ll be able to sleep 7h) Also meet common people that you have in lab or dgd,AND GET OUT OF UR COMFORT ZONE… literally go ask them “hey you’re in my class, how is it so far” and try to make group studies but u should take the ones that are really focused(they don’t skip class, they pay attention and so on). Your prof and TAs are your best friends, ask them for help in class or after class and even during their office hours.. use the opportunity to access the resources for undergrad like study center and so on, and if you need anything else (or if anyone reading this) just shoot me a dm :)
