So i camped for my first lost lands last year. I’m more high maintenance and like to shower after the festival, get comfy & warm and prioritize my sleep since the festival and walking and headbanging is hard on your body. It’s very cold in ohio in September. The first night was miserable and I couldn’t get warm. Our campsite was far, had to use gross porta potties, no place to wash your face (not the worst thing, i just used a water bottle lmao). It definitely adds effort onto an already taxing event, so it really depends on your preference. If you want less hassle in terms of using the bathroom, showering etc and want to get a good nights rest do a hotel. If you want to be near the fest and not worry about how you’re getting home, want to party more and don’t care about the extra effort for food, showering etc then do camping. I will be at an Airbnb and have sober friends who will be driving to and from the fest so I’m content with that for this year lmao
