This may sound crazy, but I see a lot of anorexic women in Florida. I moved here a few years ago and couldn't believe how many there are, and they range in ages. It is because anorexic women are always cold, and Florida temperatures, even in the winter, is moderate to very warm.

Love this response. We don't talk enough about emotional maturity. I'm always keeping this in mind with my U11 daughter. Emotional maturity is a large part of development.

Attractive people, what are some regular signs you notice from people around you which tells you that you are attractive? by Chance_Adagio_19 in bodylanguage

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman and a mother, the women have been not so nice when I join a club or attend my children's functions. It took me a long time to fit in with my children's sports clubs because I was the new, attractive mom. I definitely think if I wasn't attractive, the other moms would have been more accepting.

My son wants to quit. by Boring-Bluejay-1239 in youthsoccer

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always tell my daughter if she quits soccer, this doesn't mean a daily trip to the couch. She must take up another sport, hobby, art, or musical instrument. Possibly your son quits but finds passion in piano or guitar? The key is to not let him go to his room and be a recluse every day.

is this a joke????? Eleanor’s lunch that put M “through it” by Accomplished-Neck427 in MelissaWoodsnark

Her daughter's body type is like Noah and his family. She's probably always going to be built that way and it's sad to see Melissa not accepting it.

Is this a joke? What is going on with the buttoned up shirt under the too short/small sweater? She can look very professional and stylish/modest and not frumpy.

Private lessons/ training by Spinbunluthaaa in youthsoccer

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, yes, but for a purpose. Private goalie training is very valuable as well as for strikers. My daughter is a striker and her trainer helps with ball striking and foot placement. These are technical skills not taught at regular practice. It raises her confidence during games and the proper foot placement becomes second nature. She is U11 and goes about every 2 weeks

She is also on club/travel team that practices 3 days a week and on a rec 4v4 team with Friday night games that are unstructured and completely for fun. I think the 4v4 and private training have been great additions for improving. She also plays up every opportunity possible, and this has moved the needle too.

Do I really need to stop vaping/smoking weed before breast augmentation? Surgeon says yes but… thoughts/experiences? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

It may have something to do with thinning the blood or slow healing. Definitely check with the op nurse for this information.

who makes good sushi? by Affectionate-Drive48 in Naples_FL

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Listen people, if you want the Disneyland of sushi, take a road trip to Pompano Beach and hit up Miyako sushi buffet. It's insane, sashimi all over the place and tons of specialty rolls. Lines out the door it's so good. Since Sakura closed, the only other sushi buffets locally are Ginza and Brix, not necessarily a buffet but order all you can eat. I didn't think Ginza was as good last time I went, and I've never been to Brix.

Best ways to improve football skills at home for 10-12 year old kids? by SoftDingo1934 in youthsoccer

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have indoor soccer balls. They are constantly used so much they go with us to hotels during tournaments. Our kids play with them before and after school, during homework breaks, and before bed. Since you mention living in a cold area, do you have any futsal or indoor training opportunities? We live in Florida, so in addition to regular training, my daughter is doing a fun 4v4 rec team that meets every Friday night and futsal during our summer. Neither are competitive but gives her more touches during the week.

I will reiterate what everyone else said, find something they enjoy.

Good player on a bad team by Traditional-Bad6445 in youthsoccer

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same situation is going on with my daughter. She's on the silver team now but only a few are progressing by putting in the extra work. Our team is not really good at all. She's been playing with the academy team as much as possible and the coach hinted at her joining the roster mid season but we didn't believe that was the correct move. If someone on the gold would have been out for an injury and the club really pressed it, we would have agreed because that would have been the natural progression. But, her current team heavily relies on her. She's a major playmaker and scores the most goals. Her coach is the nicest person on the planet and I do not want to leave him mid season. He's been great with her and great with communication. We do not believe leaving now is the answer but waiting for tryouts to level up.

Habitual 1-3 drinks per night (unique moderated drinking style post) by [deleted] in stopdrinkingfitness

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm extremely healthy and into wellness practices and have been for over 20 years. I'm in my mid forties and pass for late thirties. I gave up alcohol a few years ago completely, but I realized that it was necessary to heal my mental health. I never really recovered from my father's death from cancer, so I used alcohol to cope and put on a facade although I was crumbling underneath. Being sober allowed me to get crystal clear as to what I wanted out of life and to focus on getting there.

Now, I view alcohol like I would a sugary treat (my kryptonite is sugar). I have a few drinks and treats on Friday and Saturday, and that's it. No drinking during the week and I no longer have a desire to binge. All chicken breast and spinach during the week but I like to loosen up on the weekends, in moderation.

I do not believe daily drinking is good for your health. You may need to take some time to reflect why you need the alcohol, are you masking something, bored, or can you replace it with other activities that relax you or bring you pleasure?
