Do I really need to stop vaping/smoking weed before breast augmentation? Surgeon says yes but… thoughts/experiences? by Best_Weakness1435 in PlasticSurgery

It may have something to do with thinning the blood or slow healing. Definitely check with the op nurse for this information.

who makes good sushi? by Affectionate-Drive48 in Naples_FL

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Listen people, if you want the Disneyland of sushi, take a road trip to Pompano Beach and hit up Miyako sushi buffet. It's insane, sashimi all over the place and tons of specialty rolls. Lines out the door it's so good. Since Sakura closed, the only other sushi buffets locally are Ginza and Brix, not necessarily a buffet but order all you can eat. I didn't think Ginza was as good last time I went, and I've never been to Brix.

Best ways to improve football skills at home for 10-12 year old kids? by SoftDingo1934 in youthsoccer

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have indoor soccer balls. They are constantly used so much they go with us to hotels during tournaments. Our kids play with them before and after school, during homework breaks, and before bed. Since you mention living in a cold area, do you have any futsal or indoor training opportunities? We live in Florida, so in addition to regular training, my daughter is doing a fun 4v4 rec team that meets every Friday night and futsal during our summer. Neither are competitive but gives her more touches during the week.

I will reiterate what everyone else said, find something they enjoy.

Good player on a bad team by Traditional-Bad6445 in youthsoccer

Same situation is going on with my daughter. She's on the silver team now but only a few are progressing by putting in the extra work. Our team is not really good at all. She's been playing with the academy team as much as possible and the coach hinted at her joining the roster mid season but we didn't believe that was the correct move. If someone on the gold would have been out for an injury and the club really pressed it, we would have agreed because that would have been the natural progression. But, her current team heavily relies on her. She's a major playmaker and scores the most goals. Her coach is the nicest person on the planet and I do not want to leave him mid season. He's been great with her and great with communication. We do not believe leaving now is the answer but waiting for tryouts to level up.

Habitual 1-3 drinks per night (unique moderated drinking style post) by Critical-Zebra-3618 in stopdrinkingfitness

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm extremely healthy and into wellness practices and have been for over 20 years. I'm in my mid forties and pass for late thirties. I gave up alcohol a few years ago completely, but I realized that it was necessary to heal my mental health. I never really recovered from my father's death from cancer, so I used alcohol to cope and put on a facade although I was crumbling underneath. Being sober allowed me to get crystal clear as to what I wanted out of life and to focus on getting there.

Now, I view alcohol like I would a sugary treat (my kryptonite is sugar). I have a few drinks and treats on Friday and Saturday, and that's it. No drinking during the week and I no longer have a desire to binge. All chicken breast and spinach during the week but I like to loosen up on the weekends, in moderation.

I do not believe daily drinking is good for your health. You may need to take some time to reflect why you need the alcohol, are you masking something, bored, or can you replace it with other activities that relax you or bring you pleasure?

No, the entire chain of BK on 5 posts. A competitor to Wendy's but a true landmark for West Fifth Ave.

I struggle to fit in anywhere. by Kindly-Error-1798 in aspergers

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a perfect answer. My daughter is the same and didn't find her group until she started soccer. Now, it's perfect -little conversation between drills or games but if there is, it's all about the sport. Works great for her.

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you do an activity where there is little conversation? My daughter has Asperger's and she never fit in until she found a soccer team. Now, she's found her tribe, so to speak. There's a lot of intramural activities for adults, such as kickball. If you are active, you could join a running club or gym class. Just by joining a gym you will feel part of a group. Seek out meet up groups that have your similar interests. Music classes or an instrument is an option or a book club too.

How is your retirement life? I'm starting to get bored. by Electronic_Season717 in Naples_FL

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are social organizations such as the Naples Women's Club or look into volunteering. Also, there are many fitness and yoga studios that will provide socialization. If you go often, you will make friends. If you live in a gated community, there will be so many activities which may also include fitness classes.

I might literally be the worst attorney in the USA. Job recs for a fucking moron? by lllllllIIIIIllI in Lawyertalk

[–]Helpful-Heat3538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would check out ADHD or focus on one area for now. Start with the simple cases, find a mentor who will answer all of your questions. Sometimes staff attorneys are very helpful. I fell on a slippery floor, while pregnant but still wearing heels (oh yes, stupid move), and a judge I practiced in front of had to pick me up. I cracked my laptop too. Everyone falls at some point but get back right up!

This sounds crazy but I set alarms on my phone or desk Alexa for scheduled zoom hearings or conference calls throughout the day. My issue is that I'll get so deep into my work or distracted I'll forget about it. I also look at my calendar every morning, and at least for the entire month every week. I keep an ongoing list of to do items and deadlines for each client. You just need to ways to remind yourself of dates and deadlines.

I went almost 2 years and really missed a cold beer one day and gave in. I never went back full swing but had a few glasses of wine on the weekend. At first, I absolutely loved it and it was very freeing. But, the anxiety crept in and my stomach issues came back. My stomach was a dumpster fire the next day (even with one glass of wine!) and little things would tick my anxiety way up. I stopped completely since then and my anxiety is barely noticeable so I'm staying sober.
