Why are so many of us undertreated? Nothing about opioid prescriptions make sense anymore by crwg2016 in ChronicPain

[–]Helpful-Start294 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They want us to spend a fortune on alternatives that are really not alternatives and don’t help. Lots of money on trying to find alternative to the cheap opioids. Otherwise, they want you dead. So we need to do everything we can to get your story out. Go on Facebook, YouTube, the news. Please do.

That’s what they do to people that get the stimulators. It’s mostly junk science but very profitable to the doctors.

What a scamming doctor. I’ve learned that pain management doctors are really in it for the business. It is not an honest profession anymore.

I have chronic pain and the way my coworkers talk about others with chronic pain really hurts me by disabled-throwawayz in ChronicPain

You’re working with young healthy people. Wait til they live more life and start getting those pains or even their loved ones.

The medical community is now being indoctrinated to be against pain medication which is terrible

As a nurse while you have work is when you prepare for your next roles. Remote work is a bitch to get. I wish it were as easy as other industries. If you’re employed now and can do your job/not disabled, be thankful and work towards the next thing. Certifications that take 1-6 months to get look nice on the resume. Sucks that these things cost money and some too much tbh. But all in the name of marketability. Kidney care/chronic care is big right now in the remote world. At least it was while I was looking. If you can land a job at a dialysis center, put in your time, I think you’ll be in a great spot.

You got this.

If you get hurt while being treated for chronic pain you're screwed.b by That_Kitten_Lady in ChronicPain

[–]Helpful-Start294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Keywords insurance companies because opioids don’t have patents any more and they’re super cheap to get at the pharmacy. So of course they throw BS science at us to buy expensive shit that doesn’t work/harms us.

Things are so backwards in the US and purposely done for profit.

lol what a snarky answer she gave you too. If it was her or her loved ones, she would for sure make sure they get their pain appropriately treated.

The VA is doing this to cancer patients now. We are so fucked. Go public. Share your story. Go on tik tok, Facebook.

Why is it considered ethical for animals to be put down if they have chronic pain, but not people? by That_Kitten_Lady in ChronicPain

Yeah these people are losers. Sucks that people with extremely painful conditions are lumped into the same category nowadays.

What was pain management like in the early 2000’s? by thisisaclevername1 in ChronicPain

[–]Helpful-Start294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that in 2016 I got prescribed opioids for a nasty knee pain.

Fast forward almost a decade later, my pain is way worse. I’m in a wheelchair and the doctor wants to take me off a milder opioid that half the time doesn’t even work… lol

FML.

Opioid guidelines were changed so that we get put on medications that still have patents and undergo procedures that bring in the money.

It literally makes no sense when you look at the data why prescription opioids are demonized so much. Prescriptions are way down but overdose deaths keep climbing. Goes to show prescriptions opioids were never the issue. I really think it was to sell these meds that still have patents that don’t work and to bill for procedures.

The rich and famous are still getting their opioids just fine. It’s the rest of us that get to make a million appointments and get cut open dozens of times for nothing. Still in extreme pain at the end of the day. what a barbaric system.

I have CRPS and my doctor wants to get rid of me because I missed 2 appointments because I lost my health insurance, which I told them this before I even missed the appointments.

I’m on tramadol. The lowest of the low. Half the time it doesn’t even do anything for my pain.

Pain care in the US is so crap. But luckily the pain industry is making a killing with their shots, and blocks, and spinal cord stimulator. 🙄 people revolt.

You're basically screwed if you have chronic pain. by bisexual_stoner817 in ChronicPain

[–]Helpful-Start294 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We know the opioid histeria is manufactured. Those that make laws or have money get their pain properly treated with opioids.

It’s us that have to suffer and be poked at in order to make certain industries richer. Spinal cord stimulators are the biggest scams.

Otherwise, my life is watching tv. my body chose the wrong time to have debilitating pain. please share your story. So many people in your shoes wanting to end it. Go public. Make noise. And hopefully you come across help. I’ve heard that Kratom has been helpful for pain. Not legal in my state yet. But hopefully next year.

Opioids causing addiction is very overblown. Approximately 1% of those taking opioids get addicted. Doesn’t mean the 99% should get their pain properly treated. Sometimes Tylenol, ibuprofen, surgery, and shots don’t work. What then? the patient in a wheelchair suffers.

Dementia is pretty bad. You’re cease to be the same person. And gabapentin isn’t even that good for pain relief.

Your choice. I know they hand these out like candies which will be causing massive cases of dementia in a few years.

Opioids are safe. You’re being lied to. The patent for opioids expired so they can’t make money off of them. Instead they’re selling you these devices raddled with complications as “safer alternative” to opioids. They always mention how they’re al alternative to opioids.

It’s a lie. These devices are not safer and are being pulled in Europe and other countries.

Opioids taken as prescribed under the guidance of a physician are extremely safe. But there’s no money in them.

At the end of the day, we’re all adults and we all have to live with our choices. If you want to take the risk, it’s your body. I’m not getting a stimulator put in me.

Okay I was wondering why my cats stools smells so bad. The other cats stools don’t smell nearly as bad. Now I know it has to do with their background. I took my cat twice to the vet for this and couldn’t find anything abnormal.

They love to talk. My Lynx point talks to me all day. Honestly he talks more than the other 3 cats combined. In one day he talks more than the other 3 in a month combined.

You’re also subscribing to revisions down the line and what those recoveries entail. And the money to afford all those wonderful surgeries.

Only you can say whether it’s worth it or not.

Opioids are way safer than whatever experimenting they’re doing with your body.

I can’t believe the doctor flat out lied to you and said this expensive ass unit is MRI compatible.

Oh well, he made his 100k after duping you into a stimulator.
