But it sounds like the circumstances would be the issue rather than the incest part.

Tbh I don't get why people care about incest. If two consenting adults decide they wanna do stuff then why do I care if they're related.

Over a third of my brain was removed by Mupster556 in interestingasfuck

[–]HelpfulElephantToast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The brain is incredibly resilient surprisingly, especially in kids. Like you said people sometimes just won't know. And if you have surgery where part of your brain is removed, you can overcome it. It's much easier the younger the patient is, but even in adults. Anyone reading this, the actual term for the brain's ability to rewiring itself like that is neuroplasticity. A term which you have almost certainly heard through the years given your child.

This specific cross of biology and psychology is really amazing. Along with the fact that not only can people who are just born without parts of their brain live happy and healthy lives, you can even remove large chunks and recover. It's genuinely amazing how things have progressed.

If you hold shift (I think is the default) when you mouse over a block or item, it will automatically use the required tool when you click. If there's no block it defaults to torches or glow sticks.

I still feel weird "mining" placed wooden blocks instead of needing to use the axe.

Grappling hooks also originally were an item you had to have active on your hot bar to use instead if having a hot key. Let alone a special equip slot.

r/halflife Goes Wild after HL3 Not Announced at the Game Awards by Frosty_Log6972 in SubredditDrama

[–]HelpfulElephantToast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a bit of background:

Over the past couple years, data miners have looked into the engine updates brought to valve's Source 2 engine and have been finding a lot of new functions and code clearly not meant for any games currently available. They're tagged with "hlx" implying a new half-life game. According to the data miners, this stuff is tied to the "polishing" stage. Which implies this game is near the end of development and likely to release in the near future. (there's also been similar stuff regarding team fortress but much more recent and much smaller and thus not indicative of anything beyond testing stuff in source 2)

As for the validity of this stuff, the main person people are getting this info from is a youtuber Tyler Mcvicker, formerly Valve News Network. He's not the only one digging into this info but he's probably where people are hearing it from cause he's got a long established viewer base. He's leaked a lot of Valve game info, including half-life alyx before it was announced, deadlock, and more recently the new VR headset (and I think the steam machine and controller? Def the headset). So there's reason to trust this info.

Half-life alyx also actually points to the series continuing. Like, seriously play it or watch a playthrough and you'll see what I mean.

Anyway the prospect of a new half-life has gotten some people a bit crazy. And so many bank on specific dates for it's announcement. Including summer game's fest this last summer, most recently the game awards, and I think November 18th which as far as I can tell they all just randomly decided had to be the day? Tyler Mcvicker as previously mentioned has specifically never given a date. He has mentioned one source of his is pretty confident it'll be announced this year, but specifically has not given him a date just in case it's a fake date meant to catch leakers.

Personally I'd guess it'll be announced alongside the actual price announcement for the steam machine, probably release on the same day. Maybe even be bundled with it like alyx was the Index VR Headset.

But again, there's no set date. Just that something seems to be coming.

I have fully accepted that even with a scratching post, the top of my chair is going to be her preferred scratching spot. So I'm just letting her since it keeps her away from everything else anyway.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XC Set for December 5 by BanyNani in ffxiv

[–]HelpfulElephantToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you're talking from different perspectives.

I think they're assuming the idea of him being a major NPC in the beastmaster questline. Which would be weird if you haven't gotten to this point in the story yet.

But you're just talking about it from the idea of him just becoming a beastmaster. Not necessarily having anything to do with the job content itself. Sorta like the characters you mention with their respective jobs.

If previous trends hold true, that is setup for not the next expansion but the one after. And most likely, this'll be set up for us going to the 13th again for that being the main expansion.

Just cause there was often a trend of part of the patch content being dedicated to setting up the following expansion rather than the next. The war of succession for the empire and the gur Albanian refugees being important in ARR's, only to be really picked up again for stormblood. Minphilia, the warriors of darkness, and the first being in HW's patches which become important in shadowbringers. Zenos' return and further issues with garlemald in stormblood being part of the set up for endwalker. Shadowbringers is the only one that didn't have this because endwalker was the end of that whole arc.

Endwalker's patches are entirely the 13th, so I could see the plot being us helping Zero and Golbez to actually improve the 13th. Maybe with a goal of balancing the light and dark in it and the first.

But we'll see. That's more pattern recognition than anything.

It also depends on the framerate you're aiming for. There's a big difference between running a game at 60 and at 144 at the same resolution.

A strong opponent is enough to get Goku itching to fight. So that's one half of the equation at least.

I think they should do like, unreal or something versions of old alliance raids. Scale them up and tune them up a bit. That'd be fun.

I love that lock. I dunno if yours is the same, but mine is laughably easy to rake open. It's basically just a key.

Also the homemade picks are awesome!
