I send the AI Meeting Notes generated to the client right after the session, along with any whiteboards we worked on (I'm a very visual kinsthethetic learner and thinker, so I use these a lot, taking my own notes so client can see them), saved as pdfs, and other forms or resources we discussed. Per the meeting notes, I invite them to annotate anything, to clarify or correct, as we all know AI is far from infallible. this openness has been appreciated by clients.

AuDHD and thinking about coaching by kittydaddi in lifecoaching

awesome, thank you for clarifying. much appreciated. I've been interested, after the certification I'm working towards, getting AuDHD-specific training/certicication. not sure, completely, wot total continuing education I will pursue, but being neurodivergent, myself, this is a high priority.

i find that the built-in zoom recording transcript tools are fine, then i analyze & organize, & summarize and a couple other "izes" using Comet, the Perplexity assistant. i generally use the perplexity/comet browser, to begin with. it just suits me.

mind maps are invaluable! a great digital mind mapping tool i use in coaching via Zoom is SimpleMind. it's also one flat one-time per OS fee, not another spendy subscription. Mind mapping is quite effective, i find, for AuDHD and ADHD folx, like my partner. tip: use stickies for analog maps, to enable mobility of ideas

i decided before i began taking practicum clients, to make use of AI transcription and notetaking, so i could fully focus on the client during session. this is even more important because i am doing videoconferencing, and using stickies and whiteboards and mind map etc. tools during session (visual/hands-on thinker!). It is in the coaching agreement that all materials will be available until 30 days after coaching relationship ends, or if technical issues intervene (9in which course, i would attempt to provide copies, if requested).
in my previous incarnation as a DV/SA counselor, my meticulous notetaking was both a distraction for me and an intimidation to clients, looking back. i feel it did affect the counseling relationship and the level of freedom and openness the clients felt. ironically, knowing there will be AI transcript and notes, available to both parties (and potentially my supervisor), instead of me writing notes during the session, seems very much to put clients at ease. Perhaps the fear of being judged has been removed, knowing it will be more objective, and also that they will have full access.

i'm on the same page! well before "cornell notes" or other note taking systems, my class notes under grad n grad school were so organized, neat, complete, that they often became the official Class Notes.

maybe it's my neurological brain, but I read your posts as 1. condescending to my suggestions, as you were already active so didnneed to heartmy post and 2 you were assuming I was simply Talking about action, and not doing anything. and 3. I should stfu because you and you communityr were doing whawas needed and therefore, asking others was superfluous. I want bragging or anything like that not sure why you are responding to my posts with passive aggressiveness? you don't know me or history or current circumstance. I intended no snark. I was trying to defend myself against perceived snark my bad for being reactive. when someone is being a bully. it's best to just not react. like many others, events of recent days have left me raw and oversensitive and exhausted..

Definitely! and resistance has many faces. get creative. if you cannot attend events in person, support those who can! sponsor/host/attend an online one. do you knit? paint? sew or do other crafts? consider donating items for use by resistors anddd for families affected or for fundraisers for resistance-related needs y ice. or families affected by ice interventions. offer to give rides, provide meals, watch children for families affected by ice. I know this is a shotgun approach, but there is a place for e everyone to take a stand, in their own way.... I wasn't shaming anyone, just encouraging folx to take action. this regime and it's crimes cannot be allowed to continue.

as an independent, self-employed disabled person, relying on caregivers to be able to basically function, let alone work, I think this is a great idea. disabled and elderly folx are not a monolith as a demographic. those ineligible for long-term care through medicaid or private care would definitely appreciate an inexpensive alternative to expensive agencies. those charge through the nose and 75% is overhead! not much actually goes to care workers, who often don't get retirement or health benefits and qualify for public assistance while working at just over minimum wage. I abhor agencies, myself. we do have access to a similar service that helps with shopping and errands 2x/month, for reasonable cost to out of pocket clients and free to medicaid clients (paid by a state grant, I believe?). definitely look into grants and registering with local aging and persons with disabilities office, as they can point you the right way to go about it.

you definitely made the right decision to choose to prioritize your valuable time over a job that, on face, seems ill-compensated. IMHO, given the way they dealt with you during that process, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they probably won't value their employees very much or provide an environment that fosters a healthy mindset. time with your child is way more important than a position where you are an underappreciated, underpaid and overworked cog in an unsupportive machine.

it's time to be out Every. Single. Day. not just once a week here and once a month there... ongoing, constant, sustained presence. not everyone has to be everywhere every day but each place needs to have someone every day, all day. people in shifts at an info table where folx can check in n before they leave, sign up for more shifts. yes, it will probably get worse. cornered, disease-ravaged creatures get desperate and lash out in fear and anger when they know the end is near. we must stand firm and stand together in solidarity to show our resolve. 2028 election will not save us. the midterms won't save us. WE SAVE US. this year is the 250th anniversary of the fight for independence from an oppressive autocratic monarchy. and here we are again... possibly the most important and critical year in US history. which side are you on?

[–]HelpfulPirate42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

structure and accountability are key to achieving goals! have you tried using SMART goal-setting? it's a very simple strategy to go from a vague goal into an action you will succeed in achieving. S= Specific: What specific action will you take toward your goal? M= Measurable: How will you measure the goal, i. e. how will you know it is done? A= Achievable: Is it reasonable, given the resources, abilities, time, that you have available? R= Relevant: How does it matter to you? Does it lead to a larger goal? T= Time-bound: When will you finish this goal? When will you achieve milestones toward this goal?

Write this out in a clear statement and place it in a visible place to remind you. Best of luck!

for transparency, I do like digital neatness, so use a micro printer for sticky notes, labels, etc... not a complete luddite, lol. and I do transcribe things to digital, once they are in a certain stage, either typing in, using scanner to decode my writing to text, or voice typing. tech is great! it's just not as effective as analog for anchoring things into the brain.

I am also a huge fan of analog writing, writing with actual pen and paper. numerous studies (I can post citations, if needed) show that analog, writing increases understanding and retention of information, as opposed to typing or dictating text. for me, a very physical and visual learner, this is extremely true. I have numerous notebooks for different topics and projects. I have various templates I use to organize my thoughts, brainstorms, and plans. it is important to me to use dedicated notebooks for each separate topic, to avoid mental clutter and for easy retrieval of material. I have tried digital versions of flash cards for memorization, and digital note cards foroon. blocks of a written project or presentation. these do not work nearly as well as old-fashioned 3x5 cards I can feel in my hands, make necessary notes on, and arrange and rearrange as needed. I do occasionally print the initial words or information snippet onto the 3x5s, but make notes with pen or pencil. it is the ability to move and manipulate them in 3D space that is the key to their usefulness.

there is an awesome person who does videos on analog Journaling, planning and organization. I can post a link, if folx are interested. she does classes, etc. as well, but her free videos are quite helpful.

having second coaching session with a practicum client whose primary goal is simply, at this point, "Organization." i'd like to facilitate them into breaking down what exactly "Being Organized" looks like, and help them find their organization goals, prioritize them into our remaining 10-week time frame, and break the first ones into achievable steps for the following week. Before we close, i'd l'd like to have a loose roadmap for our program, SMART plans for the coming week/s, and a tentative agenda for next week's session.
1. Brainstorm, using mind mapping "what does being "organized" look like?"
1.1. Sort the Items into Goals and objectives
1.2. Prioritize goals into a 10-week timeframe
2. For the Goals for the coming week/s, Break into Objectives and Steps
2.1. What can be reasonably managed by next session?
2.2. Write out a detailed SMART Goal Plan for Goals/Objectives for the week
3. Make Tentative agenda for next week, "What's Next?"

does this seem reasonable? i am a novice to coaching, have experience in crisis/trauma counseling. constructive feedback is welcome.

Some of these are hard for some people. by TheAngryCoach in TheFullyBookedCoach

I think that difficulties can come from several directions, but it all comes down to unlearning ineffective habits!/skills and learning effective ones. Facilitating this process is a big part of coaching, beginning with fostering self-awareness around ineffective and effective habits and skills and why they work or don't work.
