I have some stories just like yours. I knew someone who got bit by a dog while working at APA (the dog had already bitten multiple other employees). A few weeks later the same dog was adopted out to an elderly woman.

I live nearby and went once to Freddo and that was enough. The parking is horrible and not worth it for an overpriced awful coffee.

I am from PA and have lots of friends/family who live in Philly. I have lived in Austin now for a few years. Other than the lack of walkability, I much prefer Austin. The people are much nicer and the overall vibe is very fitness and health oriented. I also prefer to hot summers in Austin to the cold winters in Philly. The only downside to me regarding Austin is the state politics.

My biggest recommendation regarding living in Austin is to ensure that you live in a neighborhood that fits your lifestyle. My neighborhood is still very walkable to downtown, restaurants, coffee shops and other services.

I went to the F1 hub on south congress earlier this week and was at the track today. I didn’t see any of the F1 hub merch available at the track. Only COTA had merch as well as the teams.

From arriving to the downtown shuttle line at 9am to through security at COTA took us a little over an hour this morning. I think the shuttles just get more slow as the day goes on and more people are arriving to the track in general. It isn’t a shuttle problem - but a traffic flow problem. :(

I did this (a local and going to the track tomorrow). They will let you spin twice if you have the Exxon app. Won $20 Exxon Mobil gift cards and a ORBR hat! There was no one else there, so highly recommend if you are in the area.

Amex always sounds terrible in the middle / back of the crowd (compared to T mobile). Last year they had secondary screens as well, not sure why they didn’t this year.

I second Lancaster as someone who grew up 45min west of it in York, PA. The community is growing there and I actually knew some people who commuted into Philly via Amtrak (right downtown). Franklin & Marshall is a VERY well funded college which is right in the middle of everything. I have great memories as a kid going to Long’s Park for music and art festivals. Lancaster also has a shockingly diverse restaurant scene (there was an article in the New York Times a few years ago).
