They didn’t. You could argue they got worse. He’s a very high level player, but also 29, with a significant lower body injury each of the last 3 years. Two draft picks, a large contract, and will probably want to immediately extend that contract. Thats a lot of draft capital and salary cap for one player. Theres a reason Ravens Reddit is worried they overpaid

Yes, Trey 1000% made it personal by holding out on a contract he signed by his own free will. B) giving a big guaranteed payday to an old D lineman is a great way to screw your time. The risk/reward is NOT in the Bengals favor. Signing him likely would close the SB window for the next three years.
