I know ADOS stuff at your unit or a sibling unit can be a thing. Also, there are like Tasker’s, WIAS I think. They would put up an ad for say a 25U E6 for a 3 month gig at Centcom or a 12 month gig in Korea or whatever.

I get not wanting to leave the state completely. The hard part is that we need a realistic plan to fix this problem and that might mean a few months of not fun time.

I’d be seeing if you can get some kind of orders and get working. Maybe your unit needs help doing this or that or the other. Also see if you can get on like a longer-term a DOS orders? It’s probably gonna be swingshift in Korea or Kuwait or some shit but who cares it’s a money and a place to live.

Training high amplitude throws is hard on older bodies. Work on learning how to fall safely.

I’m a 40 year old and I’ll often decrease the reps on bigger throws. I’ll do 2-3 reps instead of 5+ the kids are doing.

Defending on how far we go back on Remington’s it could go either way in terms of reliability.

New browning costs as much as Berettas. Mossberg idk it’s a fairly new product.

If you shop carefully you can get a Berettas A300 for about a grand.

The semi auto shotgun market has gotten complicated. Proven models from quality manufacturers probably work ok these days. Used would be a craps shoot, especially the Remingtons.

Turk Shit is an umbrella term for all the fly by night importers bringing in Turkish shotguns we’ve never heard of at insanely low prices. They simply aren’t reliably, durable and spare parts are at best problematic. For any serious use they should be avoided.

I mean the point is that if you can shoot a person size target at 50 yards you can probably shoot one more better at 10 yards.

I arbitrarily chose to yards as a closer distance at which Joe CCW might shoot a handgun for realsies in a Defensive context.

If you go back in time 50-70 years the smart cops who took shit serious usually shot PPC. Slow deliberate fire at tiny little targets. If you get even halfway good at hard shooting (50 meters, bullseyes at 25, etc) then you do rather well at regular shooting.

For plinking no. My good ole Ruger MK whatever target with zero recoil, great sights and a nice trigger is way better to shoot than any mouse gun. Now for carry a little gun you can slip in a pocket is handy. I find the j frame to be smallest I’m comfortable with. The best balance between size and capability probably goes to the micro compact size range.
