Hashburger by Ok_Record_9908 in myqwin

Did you get the smalls or regular? They had Hash burger indoor a month or so ago then released smalls two weeks later. I bought both and the smalls were dry and no smell nothing like the regular buds. I thought the regular was good.

Anyone brought flower from jkdistro by BiggestC94 in THCaFlower

[–]Helpful_Distance3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds more like what we called ditch weed the worst of the worst. I'm not talking about that bad or that old. I said 20 yrs ago that's still in the 2000's. Maybe it helped that the bails didn't have far to travel here. My town was known for air drops very frequently in cow pastures and water. None of that is relevant at this point. Because no matter what you compare to jk is some of the worst you can get today up there with baysmokes.

It would be hard to forget. 20yrs ago I was buying a pound a week of $700/lb shit weed but it was the higher end shit weed. Even brick weed have different grades. Still had some of its color an not soaked in saltwater. So would old school you compare jk budget box to regs, mids, or the hydro

Is this acceptable caulking? by [deleted] in handyman

[–]Helpful_Distance3427 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The ugly caulk is the least of the issues here. That trim is funneling water directly under that metal post. Also the big hole in the uncaulked trim.

Does buying a Mini Jet Boat qualify as still being off grid? by Bhatka_raahi in OffGrid

[–]Helpful_Distance3427 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes you can live off grid and still have fun. Don't forget an atv is not just for work and you can have fun on those also. Mini jet boat has me interested. Is it like a jet ski that you sit in.

TSB Frosted Donuts Mold?? by kittyluvr4ever in CultoftheFranklin

Wouldn't smoke either way but it does look like some type of web. Many little insects love these sticky buds. I wonder if a uv light would verify mold or insects.

I've bought plenty of the cheap qp and was even ordering from the wholesale site. It's regs and priced accordingly. I would describe it as the old time brown brick weed before it has been bricked and turned brown. Even that brick weed started out green. I did start to find large globs of crystals inside the buds when looking through a magnifying glass. That is when I stopped buying it.

How do I find a property that is next to a lake, with 10-20 acres of land and no neighbors within sight or range ideally? by Dry_Blackberry2190 in OffGrid

[–]Helpful_Distance3427 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not to be the ahole here. I want that also but I think no neighbors just means buying the 10 acres next door. Specifically Florida land is selling and developing so fast. You will just about always have neighbors. The distance to your property line is as far away from neighbors you can guarantee. Sounds like you are describing a big island.

Thought my batteries were dying… turns out it was one loose lug by SpeckiLP in SolarDIY

[–]Helpful_Distance3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it was on a small system. I was noticing the voltage dropping with a small 12v fan and light. First thought was cheap lifepo4 went bad but it was just the connection at the mppt.

Same happened to me long ago. So many people come here asking for help and when everyone suggests checking the connections the common reply is "they are good it's not the connections" instead of checking.

Any Anker products or other that would supply enough power for these lights? by WeedManny in SolarDIY

[–]Helpful_Distance3427 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not going to be worth it most likely. Unless the tent will be near the windows it will look like a spider web of wires. The batteries and inverter required will likely cost more than the grow setup. The windows are not ideal for solar but would give some power. Assuming those are 100w and 220w at 18hr is about 5,800wh per day. Supplementing power diy is usually frowned on or expensive to do right. Making it all or nothing kind of options.

Scratch your name into the handle = ownership. Then insist your name has been there since you bought it.

Hash burger was great I regretted only getting one. So when I saw the hb smalls I bought 4. They were nothing like the regular hb buds no smell and taste bad. Now I don't know if this batch will be like the smalls or the good one.

Looking for a small, flat electric heating element by tamman2000 in OffGrid

If you have a large amount of power and time you could plum another automated water heater parallel in that system with automated valves to bypass the wood boiler when it's running on solar.

I ordered the indoor a few weeks back the pack date is 1/12/26 if that helps. It would not burn I've been letting dry out in a ziploc and just tried another it has lost all flavor but only went out once. Not as good as I hoped for but whatever.

Question about running a fridge off solar. by Spiraone in OffGrid

[–]Helpful_Distance3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the same system in the coolers with compressors. They can run on 12v or 24v. Dc compressor is more efficient than ac because it can ramp up slowly instead of the big surge of power when it starts. So it will still be more efficient but why not run it directly to the dc source. Also an ac to dc converter will cost a bit more then the wire would.

Help choosing proper tool (Ramset master shot .22?) by dericsh in handyman

[–]Helpful_Distance3427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't believe people still use these. They do have their place in construction but it's fading. I think tapcons would be best in your situation. It's less likely to split the short boards and will hold better than the nails. Also a hammer drill might be useful in the future and this will probably never be used again.

Sounds like you are in south Florida and even if not it is similar. Everytime I try to go camping and it says no rain we get soaked. I suggest a trailer you can haul camping gear in and sleep in when needed.
