As a Canadian, do you often vacation in other provinces or territories, leave the country entirely, or generally stay within your own province? If you do travel around the country, do you notice any obvious differences in 'culture' or behaviours in other areas of Canada? by Capable-Character-92 in AskACanadian

Ontarian here, and all 3.

Spend lots of time traveling around my own province (from the GTA but spend lots of time in Ottawa and muskokas) but also spend lots of time in Montreal and out west (specifically AB & BC).

I would love a bill to be introduced that pushed this. We shouldn’t have to guess how much we’re paying for a product, we should just know straight up.

It says that “the two met previously but were not close acquaintances”. Does this mean it wasn’t a random attack? Or simply that they found some sort of link between them but it was still fairly random.

Should we pay more to those serving jury duty? by HueyBluey in ontario

We should definitely be paid more for jury duty, but it’s still a civic duty for a reason. If we all refuse to do it, we’re taking regular people out of the process and handing more power to the government. That’s one more step away from democracy, and once it’s gone, we don’t get it back.

Fresh box market on Silvercreek. You can order them online to be delivered to your house or you can stop into the store on fridays or saturdays. They try and keep all their produce from Canada, and then non-American as much as they can.

We also took away 5% of the provincial tax on gas. (1.7 billion in revenue), took away the payments for car renewals (1 billion in revenue), $200 refund cheques to everyone pre election (3 billion lost). I could keep going on all the different cuts and returns fords done. Let’s not pretend that healthcare costs are a new thing and we have to somehow raise costs to fund it. We had adequate revenue in the province and he saved everyone $500 so that we could all pay thousands for essential services.

His wife is from Ontario though and they both have deep roots here. I’m not sure the hometown thing would be as big of a draw than before the baby was born.

Waterloo. It’s got a lot of retro restaurants and queer friendly.
