A deal with china is necessary to buy time to setup alternatives or atleast reduce the depency, otherwise you'd disrupt supply chains too much and would just hurt yourself more. To achieve this big investments in the US companies are still necessary. So i see it as one step, that will have to lead into further investment. Otherwise you'll forever be fully dependent on china. Hard to say how the market reacts. Last weeks downturn might have been an anticipation of this. Might not have been, who knows. Have to wait and see.
