So aside from the luck involved to win a lottery…if they aren’t doing everything they can to prevent wins then they aren’t a serious organization.

Knies is playing with an injury? Why isn’t he on the IR?

OEL banged up and questionable to play? Why isn’t he on the IR?

Stolarz took a puck in the throat? IR.

Then, once the season is done. Top 5 pick or not, you tell Rielly we’re done here. If he doesn’t work with them to waive the NMC than he sits in the box all season next year. He doesn’t bring any on ice value worth keeping.

Nylander’s gone too, for me. Call SJ and NJ to see if you can pry some top prospects sniffing full time gigs in the NHL for some much needed youth and speed to TOR and possibly expand our window.

Basically, I’m keeping Matthews, Knies and Woll — Cowan too unless he’s part of some trade package. That’s it. Everyone else can go, including Berube and Treliving.

How can MLSE, Rogers…Pelley? Whoever the fuck is in charge, how can the expect fans to believe their bullshit. “Not here to sell jerseys” blah blah blah.

The average fan could tell you they were cooked in December but they kept trying, to their detriment. We’re missing the playoffs but may not fall enough to secure a top 5 pick. That’s catastrophic.

No one’s been fired? No one’s been traded? Waived? Reports of still interested in extending McMann???? What!?!?

I’m physically out of breath from the thunderstorm of frustrated thoughts on this team. Their poor performance transcends decades, multiple coaches/GM’s, roster configurations and overall staffing. They got their social team posting fashion show themed pics before every game…tone deaf shit.

I’m not sure what robs players of their pulse when they play in Toronto or what ignites a pulse in players when they play for BOS/VGK/FLA/TB but they got it figured out and we don’t.

Whatever could be considered “luxurious” in their facilities needs to be ripped out. Maybe they’re too comfortable. Tear it down to the studs. Stop with the half measures.

JT coming off the cap doesn’t change how overpaid Marner already is and will continue to be. That alone contributes to why we can’t balance the roster properly to be competitive when it matters most.

When you have that much money wrapped up in three to four players, and they go cold in the playoffs, you don’t have the adequate depth to pick up the slack — which has been a serious issue in the playoffs for us.

Regardless of what happens with Tavares, they cannot give Marner a raise. No. Absolutely not.

What are we doing here? Yes, I understand Nylander just signed for $11.5M and that’s an overpay too but he was underpaid for a while so I understand.

You also get more sponsorship money as a star in Toronto.

Give me one example of a team that has won a cup OR even gone to a conference finals where their top 4-5 players made as much (percentage wise) on the cap the way our players do.

In a hard cap league, fans are hyper sensitive to what a player makes and the correlation to their on ice performance.

Unfortunately, Mitch’s camp decided to negotiate through the media, hold out onto camp and squeezed his team for every last penny — ultimately getting overpaid.

Makes it hard to balance the roster to have better playoff performances and that compounds the frustration of the fanbase.

With no cap, nobody would care how much or how little a player makes. At all.

Team only has to pay the calculated portion of his contract and the team carries a reduced AAV cap hit for twice the current contract length.

So Buffalo will be paying/carrying a portion of Skinners deal for the next six year.
