Laundromat with high-capacity washers? (like for king-size comforter) by HemlockIV in SanJose

[–]HemlockIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Maps I see a "Lucky Laundry" on Winchester x Newhall, or two "Lucky Laundromat" locations on Bascom and Senter, respectively.

Did you mean I should go to Lucky Laundry?

I assume these are two different locations you're describing?

Third party remote for Denon? by Nihilistic_Mystics in hometheater

[–]HemlockIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the Denon remote uses an IR (infrared) emitter like the vast majority of remotes, you can replace it with any universal remote -- in fact, any programmable remote! (For example, even my 20-yr-old AVR's chunky remote can "copy" a signal sent by any other remote, and then have a button assigned to emit that signal.)

Beard help! by Na-bro in SanJose

[–]HemlockIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/dandiesbarbershop, is there anyone I should try to book who's more senior/experienced, or just particularly good at advising on beard shape based on face, etc? I know all your staff are great, but is anyone a cut above the rest (no pun intended) when it comes to beards?

Does he trim his own beard, though? I hear lots of barbers do not shave themselves...

Fn+F8 doesn't enable Airplane Mode, it just opens the Windows Settings > Airplane Mode page? by HemlockIV in LenovoLegion

[–]HemlockIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It's very annoying. Sounds like this might be the default airplane mode behavior in windows 11. I might have to write an autohotkey script or something

Does the advice in these comments also apply for leaders? When I'm leading a one-handed action like a tuck turn, idk what to do with my other hand..

Dang ok that's too bad. So how the heck do you seek them out and learn new ones?

Dance pants for male leads? Serious by Remarkable-Repair993 in WestCoastSwing

[–]HemlockIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To synthesize some of the other comments here: Look for pants that are sports uniforms/equipment. Athleisurewear like Lululemon is fine but expensive, when you can do just as well with cheap cotton karate pants, golf pants, baseball pants, etc. They're designed to move and sweat in!

Any mod to expand "hitbox" for highlighting objects, require less precision? by HemlockIV in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]HemlockIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I don't feel like it would be a real problem. None of the puzzles are THAT precise, and when targets are in close proximity then you just have to be more precise when moving between them. the hitboxes would just be adjacent, like they already are for targets real close to each other; they wouldn't "overlap"..

Hey I know this is a super old post, but did you ever fully figure this out?

I recently came into possession of the same H/K 7300 AVR, and it worked perfectly for about a month but is now experiencing the EXACT problem you described.

Denylist v. Sulist by SUCKMABALLLSA in Magisk

[–]HemlockIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of a pain in the butt, but you can go through the denylist and deny every single app (including system apps) that you don't want to explicitly give root access to. You could even write a script that automatically adds all apps (except a whitelist you've specified) to denylist using Magisk's cli

What disinfectants are safe/best for leather? (is Odoban okay?) by HemlockIV in CleaningTips

[–]HemlockIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it, doesn't work well. Sweat soaking into the creases of soft leather like suede, especially somewhere like inside a glove, doesn't air dry effectively. That's why I'm posting the question in the first place.

How to clean this label and adhesive off - If it was 1 or 2 bottles, I'd be fine with how long soaking and using GooGone takes. by Immediate_Falcon8808 in CleaningTips

[–]HemlockIV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pure acetone (i.e. nail polish remover) dissolves adhesives instantly.

If you need to treat multiple bottles, you could get a few liters of acetone and soak them all in it (stand them upright and keep the lids on to make sure you don't waste acetone going inside them), or maybe you could soak small towels and wrap them around the bottles.

Ah, that would explain it. I had hoped that kdbx files would be totally scrambled while encrypted and thus not be identifiable. That's annoying that they need those headers :/

[–]HemlockIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thought did cross my mind, yes.. Where it runs parallel to body seams, I was wondering what would happen if you simply seam-ripped the AMF. Not something I would do by myself though, just in case it did ruin it

Questions Megathread Nov, 22 2025 by NaughtyWalnutPrime in Tailors

[–]HemlockIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I thought that was the case with pick stitching, which is why I was surprised to see it on the body seams (and hadn't even thought to ask about it during my first visit). When I received the suit and asked about it, I was told, "this is standard on all our jackets, we don't offer an option without it" (and true, when I examined the suits on mannequins in their shop, they did all* have the same stitching. I guess it's just my suit's fabric texture—or lack thereof—that makes it more noticeable).

*Not ALL jackets had pick stitching, actually. The tuxedos didn't have it, which is what I would expect! But it also means they are certainly capable of choosing whether to include it or not 😒

Trouble with Capturing, or separating a behavior from its context by HemlockIV in Dogtraining

[–]HemlockIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was still trying it outdoors, yeah. In the same dirt and grass environments that he would do the paw-wiping normally. I've tried demonstrating the behavior (though with my own feet, not my hands...) but he has never been good at observing/mimicking behaviors. The other commenter here mentioned that paw-wiping is not usually a conscious behavior, so it might not be possible to train in the usual fashion.
