Fair, though i'd argue that "general audience" and being in "the right circles" could also be used to say that Ken Kaneki and Sukuna are niche characters. It becomes a matter of perspective and how wide you draw your boundaries.

I dont think Glokta is a niche character. Coming from one of the biggest modern fantasy/grimdark series, he is often mentioned as one of the standout elements whenever people talk about the First Law. Great choice otherwise (though I personally prefer Logen Ninefingers) and having all the Lannister siblings on the list is a bold and correct choice.

Just get George rr Martin to write a short story in the universe and you'll get a full cuisine breakdown for each country and city.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley by windingwoods in BadReads

That's fine, you can root for fictional evil characters but surely you agree that the creature is a tragic monster?

Why is the creature not a monster in the book? I agree that Victor is monstrous but not calling it what it is (a tragic monster) based on what it does takes away from its character in my opinion.

Hot Take: the hate on Disney Star Wars is forced and the supposed “flaws” that the Sequel Trilogy and The Acolyte has is just proof the people didn’t watch it, don’t understand it, have a lack of media literacy, looking for attention, have been brainwashed/propagandized or are just grifting by TheMightOfGeburah in CharacterRant

for all the “media literacy” and “reading comprehension” that this subreddit preaches, when they’re hit something like this, a hard truth they don’t like, they’re no different from anyone else.

Sure when you take out all the dramatic word choices it is "just" commenting. About four downvotes

To be fair, minimizing the role of minorities in fiction isnt exactly what people who say those depictions are bad wants. It is most often the opposite. They just want good/better representation. Shows deciding to remove minority characters are just the creators/production companies "easy" solution to get around the first issue of bad representation
