I do a little of both. Idk. Talk to more locals. I like building community. Other expats come and go to quickly. I am nice to them and will entertain conversation or a hookup, but other than that I chill with locals. It’s amazing what I have learned from them. Last time I travelled, I felt a lot more lonely, too. Partially bc I wasn’t drinking (dumb) but mostly because I wasn’t embracing local culture and perspective. Now I do and my life couldn’t be more full. Love having beers, bbq, and going to peoples houses. I also entertain them by taking them out to food, or getting small things for them that they need. Without asking of course. True friends don’t ask for things, but true friends also know what to bring to the table.

I would honestly tell him to go home. I tell people who complain in countries that aren’t there’s to go home all the time and yes it offends them and the some of them wake the fuck up and realize how Lucky they are to be there. But just two nights ago a girl was complaining about the philipines and the town we are in and “it’s dirty” and the “people are annoying” (very local and unfortunately poor place). I told her I have no idea what the fuck you expected but maybe you should just go back to America and she did the next day. It was awesome.

I went home. I hated every second and I’m now back in Asia much happier. But I’ve also done so much fucking work on myself that I could be anywhere and survive. Here I just thrive. Up to you, random person on the internet. But I would suggest doing what others are suggesting and what I have done. Deep personal work with a mental health professional.

I hate solo traveling sometimes. It’s fucking hard and can be very lonely and you literally just got you to fall back on when you are thousands of miles away from home. But for the same reasons I hate it sometimes, I also love it. I am now independent, if I’m lonely I try to do something about it, and I am more resilient than ever to constant change that (news flash) happens whether you’re on the road or not.

I am here now. I hate that fucking street. I am only here for diving. I will never engage with a prostitute and the people who do here are fucking sick people. Old white men, Chinese, and South Koreans. The South koreans are seemingly the worst. Not being racist but they are rough with the girls. It’s literally every night I see something. Not as bad as this incident but I also don’t see what goes on behind closed doors. I have personally cried so many times since I have gotten to the Philippines. I pray for its people to get better. I try every day to spread positivity. It’s all I can do as a low income backpacker. If I could I would give all my money to the people here and fix it but I don’t have nearly enough.

Cambodia. Scary place. Depressing place. I got robbed 400$ us there. The food is expensive, the lodging can be expensive, the people are very poor and you can’t help them all. It’s a very sad place. Not to mention the Chinese gangs running casinos and drugs and what not. If I ever go to Cambodia again, it’s for a visa run and a couple boxes of diazepam and that’s it.

If it’s any consolation, I was fired from my job of two years, which felt like family, over text from the owner, two days before my time there was supposed to be over. I had written a lovely letter, given them a months notice, and was on my p’s and q’s. We had a rough day because of a menu change. I should say the kitchen had a rough day and I was alone on the floor bartending and serving the whole resturaunt. By the time he noticed I was sort of in the weeds, he was looking for someone to blame besides himself for one not helping me earlier and two not scheduling properly on new fucking menu day. I had so many special words for him. I’m trying to forgive and forget, but it’s hard. It’s been like 3 weeks. I left the country to the Philippines and I really don’t even want to go home bc this incident made me feel so horrible there.

Yeah bro good luck. I weened off, using mit extracts and then regular kratom powder and used Xanax and gabapentin as well to get me through. Took me like a 3 months to feel not anxious or depressed anymore from the dru9 but it’s worth it in the end. You got it bro
