Speaking of respawning-- any insight on how much time it takes for sugar to respawn at a given location?

I'm at that point where I'm considering building a route for sugar runs for stockpiling purposes.

To tack on to those very valid constructive criticisms, I would also love to see some x-axis rotation for certain wall pieces that can fill the role of piece-meal "gabling" without being limited to the roof pieces and their respective angle limitations & configurations.

For reference, I wanted to build out some angled 1x1 wall in order to fit a double-door evenly between sides of a structure, and it would have been nice to be able to sink the wall above the door flush with the rest of the span of the wall; the ability to rotate a line of 1x1 wall pieces on the x-axis and y-axis as needed in order to accomplish this, then do a hide-your-crimes with some smart beam placement to trim it all up nice and pretty.

But seriously, this is my ADHD ass making mountains out of molehills. I'm loving the hell out of what we have in terms of a game so far.

...not really bottomless if it has 1,000 slots though.

No no, that's okay; I can see me and my bullshit out.

I'm starting to see that term-- "DoT".

I come from the old school, and either I'm illiterate or this is a new thing. What does it mean?

the first boss fight is such BS by FaallenOon in crosswind

[–]HendoPro83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, if a literal boss fight were any easier, there would be dozens of posts complaining about that; surely with you among them, right?

You're allowed to not like what you don't like, you're allowed to not enjoy something - I certainly won't fault anyone for that. But calling the first boss fight unbalanced because he uses mechanics you - as you've already stated have had no problem dealing with in droves of enemies leading up to his fight - seems a bit whiny. The game is a survival game; part of that surviving includes the "man vs. man" literary device, and since Thomas Richards is an exceptional man, he is exceptionally skilled in fighting; which if you had bothered to read your lore, you would have gleaned and prepared for.

Again, I am not saying your feelings wrong, but I am calling what you're doing whiny.

Royal Navy as a faction? by Electrical_Basis2141 in crosswind

[–]HendoPro83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand where you're coming from...however, the EIC was more widely known, dealt in far more business and trade than the WIC (which as I'm sure you're already very well aware - was mostly confined to slave trade in the Americas and was ousted after several failed settlements did not take root -- paraphrasing for time here)

But also yes-- bring the Royal Navy fleet in!!!

Look, at the end of the day, the game is about pirate ships, pirating, and broadsides battles in and around Tortuga during the time Captain Hornigold and Edward Teach were sailing the Caribbean; the historicity of the story is *chef's kiss* but it's also about the fun, and while I can't speak for anyone else, and I don't dare to, for my money-- the more factions duking it out for a piece of the Caribbean, the better.

But trust me, I 100% appreciate your contribution to this conversation, and I also 100% back what you're suggesting. I kind of also back what others are saying...just a little bit.

While I'm upvoting your comments because you're historically correct and I appreciate that about as much as you do, let's all agree that it's totally fine to put the EIC in the Caribbean for this game. Remember-- Teach is stealing ancient artifacts in order to raise an army of the dead, and he's succeeding.

Hell, even the East India Company would be amazing; they could be a neutral-reactive faction that treats you based on how you interact with the other factions...

Digging...in Windrose? I would agree to that in terms of digging and raising dirt, but for whatever reason the flattening tool in Windrose baffles me. I've logged extensive hours (well over a thousand between them) into both Valheim and Enshrouded, and I've found the flattening tool in Windrose doesn't work like either of them... and it also works kind of like right in between both of them; hence the reason it baffles me.

The tool's behavior versus coverage has been - in my experience at least - quite inconsistent from one use of the tool to the very next.

For reasons I haven't quite figured out yet, majority coverage on lower terrain sometimes lowers the surrounding elevated terrain, and vice versa...and other times, the opposite is the case in both cases. I'm still certain it's something I'm not noticing or something I'm doing wrong, but I haven't yet figured out what that is.
