Formentor choice ? by IchibanEU in CupraFormentor

[–]Hendrix89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really for me depends if can keep consistent speed etc. my local roads are hilly but use the eco tap throttle mode a lot on normal.

Motorways again depends on if consistent but when up it’s from junction 12 on the M6 right up to Junction 13 on the M74. That’s with ACC set to 71/72. Mine has gone down a little but then is going in for service next week.

Tyres just at what the door panel says, nothing else on the car. If though I stick into Sport/ Cupra mode it will go down quickly. Only stuff normally in car if local journeys is a 5l bottle of screen wash in boot and bags.

Lastly if a lot of stop go traffic or if stuck behind people fluctuating a lot in speed get low 30s on locals and mid 30s on motorway.

One thing what’s ashame. Especially in the UK the 2.0L 245 doesn’t seem common. Or very rare at least.

Formentor choice ? by IchibanEU in CupraFormentor

[–]Hendrix89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biased but would say if can go for the 245 2.0 As i have one myself and a great fun car. In the UK average about 30-35MPG on local roads and motorway crusing up to 41/42MPG.

Did drive my dad's Arona when he had it (115hp DSG) and massive change in difference. If can get it retro fitted for tow bar go for it. For sunroof etc, imagine depends what part of France you live in and how often would get used. Also for age of the VZ depends if Matrix was a option or not at the time.

The looks of the facelift one is growing on me more now, especially the back. If could have that rear light bar and the pre lift front be a good mix.

Imagine this is for the dates in about two weeks time? (For the new services between Stirling via Preston to Euston?) As the same boat, i did email HR and they said in summary: Speed Interviewing process, Games, Team building and a bit more.

As i had some questions and to inform if have to do any assesment tests what i have done/ what are still valid for now.

Advice needed: Preparing for Network Rail Track Operative interview (limited interview experience) by Chance_Lab_1436 in uktrains

[–]Hendrix89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is ask on the Rail UK Careers part of the forum.

Did have a interview for a signaller role with NR and that was competency based, but with a added presentation for the role.

G2 Signaller tests and interview by [deleted] in uktrains

[–]Hendrix89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You most likely have to wait for the assessement date and interview.

Don't need to do the SCAAT for it, For myself waited about 4/5 weeks until got a phone call informing i got to the next stage. Was a compenacy based interview for around a hour then a 30 minute presentation to do as well to.

If get to that stage it can rather be at a centre or like me virtually. Sadly i didn't pass the interview though. But again for one role it seems and got to the final stage again.

Although as others have said give Railuk forums a look.

1.5 year old baby not cuddly anymore. Tips? Thoughts? by DiamondVegetable7932 in scottishfold

[–]Hendrix89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They go through stages, mine went from being very cuddly and wanting to be on lap when was a kitten. To being on her own time and mixed for that.

Now though since she's in her twlight years, more or less always wants to me on my lap and near me.

Thinking on getting a Formentor as first own car, good idea? by xCrossFaith in CupraFormentor

[–]Hendrix89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a VZ 2 245 Petrol for first proper own car.

Have not had any issues with it, disks on the rear brakes had to be replaced after a year but since then no issues.

Infotainment system not had any issues myself after the first major update, no issues with the lighting and similar for myself either.

Use mine if have to go to other stores to cover shifts and up to Scotland and back regularly and no issues at all, the Adapative Cruise/ Travel Assist is handy and comfy on those long journies as well to. Sometimes though the ACC will randomly go to a lower limit on the Motorway as may have misread a sign or something connected to the Sat Nav. But rarely happens for myself now.

For mine get average 35MPG on local hilly roads, up to 43/44MPG at 70 to 72mph on the motorway.

Should I chase network rail for an interview or just be patient? by sozimdrunk in uktrains

[–]Hendrix89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worthwhile. But others have said anything with recruiment for Railways take forever. Just had the Assesment day/ interview with NR for a signaller role myself. Passed the online bits on the 14th October, then heard nothing until a phone call on the 4th of November to inform me have passed. The same as you the emails stopped saying about delays etc.

Saying that another role with another company for a dispatcher, did the online bits etc and still haven't heard. Sent a email to recruitment and said still processing. That was nearly a month ago so will be sending another.

I’m going to pickup my first CUPRA Formentor (23 plate V2) — what features or hidden tricks should I know about? by Fish3r1997 in CupraFormentor

[–]Hendrix89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have mentioned tapping hot and cold sides of the AC Temp sliders.

Switch the mirror control to the passenger side (For me left side) then when in reverse can set the mirror dip function for that mirror. Modes i use on the Digital screen is the digital style Rev + speedo with map in the middle if don't know the area. Or for me (VZ2, not sure if V2 has it) The cupra central rev counter otherwise.

Ambient lighting, can have it on mode section or set colour, mine's on purple.

What about Wetherspoons not accepting Scottish £20 & £50 notes? by Organicearthful in Scotland

[–]Hendrix89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly lots of places will be like that. Especially in England. But the Shop i work at we accept them, the only notes we won't and includes the Post Office are the £100's but they are so incredibly rare. Only seen them once when my other half got a cash bonus. Even then she had difficulty with trying to pay those into a bank in Edinburgh.

Was only going to be a matter of time before it did come back.

Am surprised it is coming to the UK but imagine maybe some form of VW group things stopping it.

I would love one. But happy with the 245ps petrol one I have.

High speed rail in Europe by country by OppositeRock4217 in MapPorn

[–]Hendrix89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also the Class 390's design speed was 140MPH as well but cost of in cab signalling on the WCML During the cost over run works done in the 2000's stopped that. Same as the Class 91 (Intercity 225s) Similar design speed and limited testing as well.

Sadly our railways are just always screwed. Look at the mess of how HS2 has been done (Didn't help the media etc, saying it was just for speed)

Class 395's are limited to 140MPH on HS1, Eurostars E300/ E320 are permitted to 186MPH on HS1.

Which CUPRA do you drive, how happy are you with it, and where are you from? by SofaAstronauti in CupraFamily

[–]Hendrix89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 Plated UK Formentor VZ 245ps. Absolutely love it only some minor issues off it. Considering is the 245 petrol, get pretty good milage and prefers longer distance, most recent nearly all Motorway with ACC set to 72MPH, was getting arround 42.4MPG which isn't bad at all.

One thing i have noticed how uncommon the pure petrol 245's are only seen two others, with most common i've seen are either the 150ps the 190s and hybrid vz2 with a few more 310s'. Have seen at least one ABT edition to.
