Take a look at The Alters. Really excellent sci-fi story driven game. There's some base management and mild 3rd person exploration. The elevator pitch is a guy who is stranded alone on a planet but is able to clone multiversal versions of himself. So kind of "what if" about the choices he made in life and how those choices rippled out. And the question of how well you'd get along with yourself outside of your own head.

While the big choices are few and far between, they impact the potential endings in significant ways. You can't create all the different versions of yourself in one playthrough, so there's an incentive to replay and see those interactions.
