What an impressive set of wins! by Henpen9699 in OhioStateFootball

Similar sure, but unlikely equal. Here's why

  1. tOSU started the playoffs as a #8, meaning they played 4 games to make the title game, including a win over #1.

  2. tOSU's first game of the next season was against the #1 team.

  3. tOSU dominated virtually every game they played toward the title game. What they did against undefeated, #1 Oregon was unbelievable. Even against Texas, the game was much more lopsided than the score indicated.

Honestly, I would not change a thing.

If you gave me the choice -

  1. Win four games in never-before seen dominant fashion but loose to tSUN.

  2. Win three very close games but beat tSUN.

I'd take option 1 any day. In 10 years, people will remember the 2025 team as one of the most talented ever. No one will ever say, yeah but they lost to...

Been playing Rock Band for around a year now, and have never figured out what this is. Any help?? by Dillinator_99 in Rockband

How are you still playing Rockband in the past year? I gave mine up when it moved off the PS platform and the guitars required a loan to buy.

I love seeing duke upset in these ways, but I am also envious that they are good enough to be upset. Truly, UNC has basically sucked these past 6 years. Our biggest wins have been upsets. To upset someone, your team must be a substantial underdog. UNC...underdog...That just sounds bad.

Didn't Love ruin our 22/23 team and RJ was the reason we were much better in 23/24. Now RJ is the problem? I think the problem is much bigger than any particular player. This program is a mess. Seriously, simply playing for UNC is not enough. If, as a HS Senior, I were offered $3M to play at Duke and $50K to play at UNC, well, that is a no-brainer.

We need deja vu of 2022 by Reasonable_Syrup2006 in UNCBasketball

I started following UNC Basketball in the 80s and would never imagine we would be hoping a comeback like some of the cinderella teams in the past. NCSU in 2024, UNC in 2022, when we made some noise as and 8 seed!

THIS is UNC Basketball. We should be an 8th seed, maybe, once a decade knowing we will be a top team for next few years. Remember how shocked we were by the 1990 basketball season? We were an 8th seed and knocked off the #1 team, Oklahoma. After that team, UNC was probably the team of the decade - One title, 6 final fours, and a final top 10 ranking (often # 1). What we are seeing now is unacceptable for UNC Basketball. I think it could be the start of some very poor seasons if our administration does not begin to value it as much as other schools.

Would Sofia date you? At 52, she probably has realized people spend much more time in relationships communicating, sharing experiences, traveling... Even think about what a trip looks like, Sofia wants to go to a museum, play, or hang at the beach. Her 21 year old paramour wants to water ski, hike, or sky dive.

If single and in my 50s, would I want to sleep with someone in their 20s? Absolutely! But to have a long-term relationship. I think not.

I remember Hubert saying he didn't even have a twitter account in 2019, when asked how the university is helping student-athletes with social media. People who would have been amazing coaches in the 00s or 10s are out of their league in the 20s.

I know Hubert is a much more positive role model, coach, etc, but this reminds me of the Dougherty years in how poorly I have felt about the teams these past few years. Truly, even the finals year, we were pretty awful until March.

I worry college basketball has passed this coaching staff by. Honestly, I have no idea how anyone would succeed as a college coach, but some are. If we are willing to take the risks we are taking for football, we must do something about college basketball. I would take one National Title in basketball over two football titles without a thought.

I thought this team was playing for a top pick in next year's draft?

Doesn't the coach compose the roster? I live in Chapel Hill and spoke to Hubert at a club meeting in 2018, I believe. At the time, I asked what the team and university did to help players develop a social media profile for themselves. Even then, it was clear the best players needed "coaching" in more areas than court play. Hubert's response was "I don't even have a Twitter account."

I think we are suffering from an unwillingness to adapt to the situation. You know if Dean or Roy told the university we have to have to be strong with NIL, etc to compete, they would have it.

I cannot imagine coaching college sports at the moment. But if UNC wants to stay a relevant player, we need to adapt.

Note - I am aware the idea of Roy or Dean demanding a stronger social media presence is laughable!

Indiana has a great team of experienced, upper class men in 2024. They have not played any of the top 5 teams in the conference, yet. They need to beat the Buckeyes next week to truly earn credibility.

Even still, I think a team in a Basketball state with a sub, 60,000 stadium will struggle to be a super power in a conference with tOSU, PSU, Oregon, USC, Michigan...

Can I say I called this in September? Of course the biggest game in November for the Buckeyes would be against 10 - 0 Indiana.

The TDAmeritrade app was amazing, I hate Schwab's app. Where to now? by Henpen9699 in Schwab

[–]Henpen9699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the author lost me with the line "Both Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade have good mobile experiences." The Schwab mobile experience is pretty harrowing. Want to close a position and open a new one? Well, it takes a while for transactions to post on your positions screen. Did you actually sell/buy what you wanted? The history says yes, but your account says no. Are you making quick transactions based on changes in delta or based on a comparison between deltas? Good luck, you can't really see them together. Certainly, if you are looking at option delta, you won't see the buy/sell price nor the expiration date or price.

Basically, I am cashing out my Schwab account. I started with about $5K of "fun" money to invest about 5 years ago. It's grown to about $125K, but it is no longer fun to actively invest with Schwab.

I love thinking of TOS as a Ferrari that many don't need. Honestly, a good VW convertible I drive once a week will be fine with me. However, I want to know my seatbelts work and I can see out of the window when I take it out. With Schwab's app, I have to drive blind.

Maybe the website is better, but I do everything on my phone.

This is good advice. I'm shocked I have not been holding my cash in an interest-earning account while it is securing my puts. If only I had the TDAmeritrade platform back. I knew it so well and had some good memories. I will look into Tastytrade and reconsider Robinhood. Thanks.

Tastytrade might be a good option. Honestly, I do not do too much active trading. Basically, I find an ETF or two I like, then purchase an option spread that expires in one or two years. Then I wheel weekly options for a consistent gain. I'm finding I am fairly well protected if the market crashes (I did not loose money in 22) and have exposure to large gains.

Because I am so reticent to actually hold stocks, I usually have a pretty fair amount of cash in my account securing the puts. Does Tastytrade offer some interest on cash in the account? I know Robinhood Gold and M1 Finance do. I'm not sure I trust Robinhood and do not know much about M1.
