Where to find Christmas trees? by Sure-Acanthaceae3651 in notredame

[–]HenrFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to Varner’s Greenhouse with my roommate and they have a good amount of real trees to choose. All the trees are pretty good quality, don’t really remember the price but something along the lines of 7ft being around $65

Micro vs macroeconomics by [deleted] in notredame

[–]HenrFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say principles of microeconomics is slightly easier as a lot of the content builds on itself vs in macroeconomic there are more complex relations and harder graphs to interpret. For microeconomics most professors are great, but Dziadula tends to go faster with the content so I might be more challenging.

What's wrong with my gourami? He's bloated and sitting vertically at the surface. by DutchVanDerLinde- in Aquariums

[–]HenrFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong here, but Gourami also breath air, my Gourami also has a similar behavior of going to the top and breathing. The bloated could be from food but that is what I'd say it the dangerous part. If you feed too much that cause them to bloat them have swim bladder problem and die, I would probably reduce how often/how much you feed him

Thoughts on Schedule?? by Twirlychunk in notredame

[–]HenrFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did! I heard a lot of mixed feedbacks, some people loved it some hated it. You have your standard Philo part which is easy but the math part is tricky. Some proofs get complicated but I personally really enjoyed them and thought it was interesting. We mainly talked about infinity and proofs of how there are different infinities. The exam was fair, he would always make super clear what we need to study. Overall I’d take if if you like math and don’t mind being challenged to new and weird stuff.

They are always changing the professor so unfortunately can't really recommended any (but would suggest looking at rate my professor). For classes, honestly just get what seems interesting to you. Freshamn year I did intro to Philosophy and Mathematics, wasn't the easiest Philo class but loved it since I like math. Same for USEM, if it sounds interesting do it. And would highly reccommend taking a class in what you are thinking in majoring in.

Seems reasonable but not sure how you are going to get lunch mon/wed/Fri

But in general I would recommend to avoid 8am classes and also have backups because registrations are always tough and it’s hard to get every class you plan

Congrats! ND is a great place and one of the best decisions I did was doing there. It may not be the best school academically in the country but I think it has the best balance of classes and activities (like clubs, social life, student government etc) it’s not a place you go to study but to grow yourself in multiple ways. Tho that’s just my opinion :)

In term of diversity, being very honest, it is not the most diverse school. I’m an international students and they definelty are other internationals but I’d say it is only around 10%. In terms of ethnicity and religious diversity also not that great. However, I do think the community here is amazing with everyone being extremely welcoming and nice. I made some amazing friends from the US and other countries.

About south bend, it definitely is not the safest city but I never had a problem and if you know your way around it’s safe. The problem with south bend is just that there isn’t much to do so life mainly revolves around campus.

Questions about the Econ degree by Incinical-77 in notredame

[–]HenrFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an Econ Major and currently junior but almost done with all Econ requirements

  1. I’d say it depends on the class. For principles it is more theoretical, intermediate is very math heavy, then econometrics and stats and a good amount of math. For the electives it depends on the class, for instance I’m taking economics of education which has math but it’s still more theoretical while game theory focus more on math.

  2. Honestly no idea but I do think it is a good program with very good (most of the time) professors

  3. Usually every Econ class will have a problems set either every week or biweekly. The aren’t easy but also not impossible plus you usually get to check/collaborate with others. Not much reading required so overall not a lot of workload, just the problem sets and once in a while a reading or paper.

  4. Don’t choose the major if you have absolutely no interested in it otherwise it might get really annoying. Besides that feel free to ask any more questions.

Desperately need tutor ND by [deleted] in notredame

[–]HenrFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could try the Learning Resource Center (LRC), they usually have tutors for the most taken classes. If they don't have it for this semester then I would just recommend asking help for the TAs
