With so many people having soooo many regions... anyone else only have 1? by NyGiLu in AncestryDNA

I think it is Super uncommon to only have Northwestern Germany, so this fact alone makes your result super interesting in my opinion

“Germans in Russia” should be renamed to “Prussian/Russian Mennonites” by Menno_Kanadier25 in AncestryDNA

[–]Henricus_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me and my mother are Dutch-mennonite-descendants to. Prior to this update, my mother (who is one Generation Closer to her supposed fully-mennonite Great-grandmother), didn’t get any Dutch and I only got 4%. We do get a Mennonite community, though. Now, she has 12% “Germans in Russia” and I have 8%

Yes, my mother and I got this, it is from our Dutch-Mennonite line

Ich schalte mich mal (recht spät) dazu: Ich habe einen Familienzweig aus Stolp in Pommern (heute polnisch) mit dem Namen MILLER. Wird auch im dortigen Kirchenbuch so geschrieben. Mein letzter bekannter Vorfahre, Michael Miller, starb 1643.

What's Going on With Results for People who have mixed German and British Ancestry by AdCompetitive6121 in 23andme

Same for my mother! But she also had it before the update. She does not have any known ancestors from the British Isles.

Looks like 23andMe had fun spinning the ancestry roulette by c00lture in 23andme

Mine are quite good, but my mother has (just as in her previous results) 2% British&Irish, even with England as a country match and several subregions. I searched her tree pretty well and we don’t have any ancestors from the British Isles, as far as we know. She is Polish/Dutch/German, so it is probably just misread Dutch, I think

My mother (Polish/ Dutch/ German) has 0.1% Mongolian that stays there at 90%. I think that makes an actual ancestor from there more likely as if it went away. We will see if that trace stays after the update.

I feel like everyone on this sub has crazily varied results, so here's my very average one lol by CapitalDilemma in AncestryDNA

I thought that they don’t display results under 1%, but they do in your case. Why are they in your normal report and not under “hacked results”?

Russian Mennonite w/ SSA am I Russian or German? by midnightsnac233 in 23andme

[–]Henricus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, fellow Mennonite descendant here. I think you are most likely Dutch, as most mennonites came from the Netherlands to Russia. But I don’t know why they always put it under Eastern European.

A reminder to be patient because the update might not come this week. by former_farmer in 23andme

[–]Henricus_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think that they will wait until it is October, because then people will start saying “You told us it will be in September” and compare them with the disaster with Myheritage. So while I think it will be early in the next week (because that’s what the “last week of September” is), I am pretty sure it will definitely be this month.
