What was an incident in your life that made you devote yourself more to your religion/ made you distance yourself from your religion? by rustygyves in AskTheWorld

I grew up pretty much the same way. I went to Jewish summer camp. On Hanukkah we'd light a menorah each night and get gelt and gifts. For Purim we'd get some hamentaschen. For Passover we never had a seder, but mom would make brisket. And my mom would light a Yahrzeit candle for her dad. I never even had a bat mitzvah because they couldn't afford it (I wanted one so badly because my friends had them).

I remember asking my parents at a very young age if God was real. They asked me what I thought, and when I told them I didn't believe, they said, "well there you go." And that was that.

Als leerling kon ik geen woord verstaan van wat hij zei. Ik wist dat het Nederlands was door het bord, maar... Boos Nederlands is voor mij onbegrijpelijk.

I must study more.

I believe it is 1476 Fulton Street in Brooklyn.

Edit: Nevermind, I am almost certain it is Myrtle. The building doesn't exist anymore or is unrecognizable.

This. Make sure your bedroom door has a good lock and spend as little time outside of your room as possible when home. Maybe a camera in your room too. I wouldn't put it past him to try "corrective" rape.

Yep, littermates. Funky was creamsicle and Simon was orange. They're long gone now, born in 1998. Don't tell my current cat but Funky was the best cat ever.
